Do you have this demo video but for the voicelive original? I just need to know how to connect the looper

I've been using the TCH PE with the Switch3 for about 6 months now. I play 99% live in a band - lead guitar and backing vox. I use the PE in the FX loop of my tube amp. I love it, but have a couple of feature requests - one of them I am pretty sure could be done with a firmware update, the other is trickier.... 1. Adjustable bass and treble frequencies on the guitar EQ. You can already adjust the mid frequency, and there seems to be space on the interface to do the same with bass and treble - should be easy and it would give me total control of my tone. 2. I have about 5 vocal patches and about 10 guitar patches. Right now, I think this means I would have to create 50 in total, if I want all combinations available to me. Creating them is a pain, but doable as a one-off. If I tweak a vocal patch, then I have to repeat that 10 times to copy the change - also a pain. The killer is that getting from patch 1 to patch 50 requires 49 foot taps! Could you do something with the PC interface to solve my first two problems? For the second problem, how about allowing us to assign a button on the Switch3 or Switch6 to jump up/down 10 patches - or rather a number that I select - so i can use it to switch between different guitar patches, whilst leaving the vocal patch unchanged (or vice versa). Thanks - if there is a better place for me to post my request, please let me know. PS - If you implement No.2 I'll need to buy a Switch6 so you will make some money immediately! PPS - happy to be a beta tester if you have such a thing Dave

+Dave Annis Hi Dave! 1. We purposely don't allow frequency selection on the high and low shelf EQ's because that's how most real-world amp knobs work. You typically get a high, low and semi-parametric mid. You can get fully parametric EQ in VL3, but that product was designed to have more complexity and parameters so it suits that products intent. 2. Hmm, that's tricky. You can hold down the button to scroll quickly, which will save some time. Outside of that I don't really know how you could do quicker vocal/guitar preset copying. We'd need the vocal and guitar sounds to be stored as separate presets to be able to quickly combine them together. That might happen in a future product but it'd need to be developed around that concept from the get-go.

+TC-Helicon Thanks for taking the trouble to reply. I understand that there was an intent for the product, but I'm sure you agree that feedback from customers who are using your products in real life (or live!) situations is highly valuable to help prioritize the features in the next firmware release. Let me comment on your specific points. 1. Yes, real-world amps are limited this way - but why constrain yourself like this in the digital world! For anyone who is using the PE with a real amp (a use-case that the designers had clearly intended to support) we already have 3 knobs on our amps - the only reason we have the Guitar Amp effect turned on to give us access to the EQ effect. Heck, it would be outstanding if it had a fixed 6-band EQ, but a variable 3-band would be ok - I had assumed that would be easier to change. 2. I totally get your point about the concept being tricky to accommodate - it feels like the product is aimed at singers who play guitar. But my suggestion (assigning buttons on Switch6 to make bigger jumps up and down, and giving us a PC interface where we can edit the patches) should be doable in firmware, and could give the product a new market extension - lead guitarists who sing - there are loads of us out here, and these tweaks would (IMHO) help the take the product ahead of some Line6 offerings. I'm hoping I have framed my suggestions in a way that makes some sense - doable in firmware/software, and addressing a marketable need. I'd be happy to continue the dialogue via email if you (or your Product Managers) are interested to dig deeper.

+Dave Annis Hi Dave. Yep that totally makes sense and it's something we're looking at for sure. I don't think we'll do that type of development on Play Electric as it stands, since it would be a pretty massive overhaul, but the idea of the singer portion being secondary to the guitar portion is an interesting user profile. I think we'd want to do a lot of consultation with Tore over at TC-Electronic to make sure we implement something that would really fit the bill there. I really appreciate the conversation. Thanks!

+TC-Helicon Hi again. So i've done a load of work creating individual patches for every song I play - it was the only way, in the end. Would have been a lot easier if there was a PC interface - as would tweaking them in future. I thought VoiceSupport V2 might have something, but sadly not. and I bought a cheap EQ pedal because 3 bands was just too limiting... but it adds noise and bulk to my rig that I could do without. So, any news on any updates coming down the track? 6 bands of EQ and a PC editor interface? thanks Dave

How to change switch 3 to switch 6? I have switch 6 pedal but the setting still switch 3
@ryancohenmusic8 жыл бұрын
Thanks always Craig ! Does this also work the same way for acoustic play? I would like to use the switch-3 to loop but also free up the play buttons to possibly change the vocal key without having to change the full setting always.

Hi Craig. I just upgrade the firmware and can't see the Switch-6 option. Can you help me?
@tchelicon7 жыл бұрын
Hmm, in the setup menu there's a page with a "FOOTSWITCH" control. You need to change that from Switch3 to Switch6 in order to set up the 6 switches.

I can’t find any video on what I’m after hopefully someone will see this an help. I’m looking at getting the Play electric and wondering how in-depth I can get when building a preset. For example I wanting auto tune can I manually edit the speed in which the auto tune kicks in like when using logic? Also am I able to set say preset 1 to the first stomp button then preset 2 to the second and a third setting to the hit button? Also how many effects can I manually edit and add to one preset can I get my sweet delay reverb and auto tune all set as one preset? I hope I haven’t rambled. Please help

What is difference between Play Electric and GTX model? Thanks, Jerry

Does adding this switch disable the hit button or will that continue to work for harmonies etc?
@tchelicon7 жыл бұрын
Hit still works the same way, though you can get the effects slightly out of sync as I alluded to in my comment on your other post. Here's a video about HIT and its interaction with Switch3/6. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqOuoX58oLNrp9E

Hi Craig, I use a voicelive GTX. Can My unit benefit also from these instant guitar effects with the help is the 3 switch? Including guitar boost? Thank you.

As far as I remember, the guitar effects are assignable to Switch3 for Play GTX, including guitar boost. It's not compatible with Switch6 though.

Hey Craig, I just got a Switch3 for my Play Acoustic and I'm having trouble getting it to work. Have you made a video on how to set up the two units together yet? Thanks.
@tchelicon8 жыл бұрын
Hmm, I'm not sure there is a video directly about that. For Switch 3 I can try to type it out for you here: 1. Connect the S3, making sure you use the cable that came with it. It's a TRS connection so a regular guitar cable won't work properly. 2. Go into SETUP and use the little arrow buttons to move through until you see SWITCH-3 (Page 6/8). There, you can set the controls for what you want to assign to each switch. In the top left corner of that screen, you can toggle between a loop mode which sets loop controls to the switches or "custom" that allows you to go to each switch and choose effects or controls you want. When you have set things for "custom" you can go back and forth between the loop mode and custom. It'll remember what you chose for custom.

TC-Helicon I just saw this post. Thanks Craig. Can I just ask what I'll be able to do if I free up the switch-3 for looper - what exactly will I have for vocals on the unit? Am I able to change vocal key by using the tc helicon switch? I just am tired of setting a different key vocal for each setting and having to set each up Individually. I rather have one setting and can change the vocal key and use HIT to turn harmony on and off and that's it really. Just trying to simplify my setup :)

Nice video Craig. I just picked up a Switch 3 for my Play Acoustic and this video helped explain a couple of things I was unsure of. It's great having the boost for a quick solo and a button for Chorus to change things up. In the PA manual it says the switch 3 can be used to control... Gtr Amp, Gtr Boost, Gtr Compressor, Gtr μMod, Gtr Delay, Gtr Reverb I get the Boost, micro mod, delay and reverb but I don't see a Gtr Amp or Gtr Compression option in the guitar settings. Am I looking in the wrong place? Are they part of the Body Res settings or something different entirely?

Ghost Picker Play Acoustic doesn't have those settings for Switch3.

Is there really no on and off button? i have Voiceliveplay electric for about a week now. Do i have to pull in and out the plu to open and close the unit?

what about multichannel looping with this device... can u add that ? ,,, having more than 1 channel for looping and over looping, so we can record different instruments and the 3 o 6 different channels ???
@tchelicon9 жыл бұрын
+ALEX EL CANTANTE The Looper in Play Electric is stereo only. Odubs are done on top of the stereo track. We can't put any more sophisticated looping into that product. It's maxed out for both processing and memory.

alexlyn Switch 6 works with Play Electric via the latest firmware update. You choose Switch6 in the setup menu and then can assign things exactly the same way you do with Switch 3.

We need a new G-Major and G-Force with an actually foot controller and the ability to control different amp heads channel switching. This unit being only 4 years old the the G's have been around forever now with no real quality improvements to rival against AxeFx and others. I mean seriously. I've been holding out for years waiting for something that I can setup via my computer and not have to mess with menu's and dials.

+Tote Neira There are no plans to add Vocoder to Play Electric. You'll need a VL3(X) for that or you might be able to find a used VoiceTone Synth.
