Thank you for the suggestion of the easy route. We are 60 years old and not experienced hikers and not really athletes but we can walk for 2 or 3 hours non-stop on level ground, but we do struggle a bit uphill. So, let me see if I got this right. We will park near Refugio Aurenzo, go on our left and follow trail 105 up to Refugio Locatelli. From there we will look for the Trail 101 sign that will lead us back to the car park. I hope I got that right. So, do we skip Refugio Lavaredo or is it still on the same route? Also, is it Euro 30 per person, or pay only for the car? I heard that it is the same price if one goes to the Seceda or Alpe di Siusi by cable car, which we're planning to do as well. We will be there the last week of August. Hope we will be fine.

Hello. We are right behind you in age🌴 lots of people of different abilities were hiking. Yes, taking the other route is what we thought might be easier. However, lots of people seem to go the other way, the way we went. You will still pass by R. lavaredo if going the other way I am sorry but didn’t pay attention to the parking in Seceda. It is per car though. Have fun. It is a beautiful hike!

Any suggestions on how to get there with public transportation? Is it possible at all? Thanks 👍
@JoyousSerendipity5 ай бұрын
Hello. I believe there are buses that you can take to the trails. I am sorry I did not research public transpo as we were bent on renting a car. We saw buses drop off hikers near the peak and they hiked up to the start though.

@@JoyousSerendipity oh end of July but still very cold in the morning... planning to go September, I think I should reconsider this plan coming from a tropical country and not used to cold weather. :)
@JoyousSerendipity9 ай бұрын
@@mincedmice yes, it was still cold. I would check the weather in September. I know it’s the best time to go to Italy in September coz it is not too hot in Rome or the coast but might be cooler still in the Dolomites. As long as you go prepared with layers, I think it will be fun!
