Yes. I'm a gym regular as well and as I'm typing this I'm actually using my A1 phone. It is great for music as it converts any downloaded content directly into .mp3 files and onto your files. Plus it works great as a internet browser/KZbin device. Also and for $19.99 an absolute steal!

Yeah I can try to do that, but they're basically the same phone with the same specs, so the outcome would be the same. The only real difference between the 2 is the TCL LX has a bit bigger display.

Yeah they're pretty much the same. The A1 has a smaller screen. The TCL LX had a 5.3" display and this phone has a 5" display. Specs are the same.

Well they were using micro USB on flagships such as the Galaxy S7 that released just a few years ago. I like USB-C better as well, but micro USB is definitely not a deal breaker for me.

"You switch its free phones"are mainly for folks in a contract or monthly install plan. Pre paid phones are another ballgame.

Photos don't really look bad with the 5 mp camera. They'd look good on an hd display. Its the low resolution display of $20 phones that makes any photo look bad.

Just bought one and took some videos of our rural property to show my wife. I can't figure out how to access the 8 short videos I took. Whatever happened to tutorials and manuals?? You use to get a manual for things any idiot new how to work anyway. Now, technology changes every week, it seems, and electronics companies are too damn cheap to include a tutorial for all the crap they put in them. Being a 61 year old 'analog man', I think they've cut corners so many times, there's nothing there for us geezers to learn with.

If you took videos you'll find them in the photos app. If you check your Google folder or swipe through your apps you'll see the photos app. There is not a native gallery app on this phone.

I have a question about the TCL A1. Did you ever a Auto dim problem? my screen Auto dims and then goes black but if I push the power button like I'm unlocking the phone it lights backup unlocked but if I purposely hit the lock button to lock the phone and unlock it I have to swipe up to unlock the phone. I have gone through all my settingsand can't think of anything else to turn off turn on turn up to make the auto dim stop it usually Auto dims after maybe 5 seconds of not touching the screen unless I'm playing a video or something like that

You don't have to buy service, or activate on a plan to use the phone. It can be used on WiFi if you don't need to make calls or send text.

Worst phone I've ever bought. Maybe mine was a dud or something, but I can't call or text because signal is lousy everywhere I go. Also, it takes 5 minutes to hang up and won't let me call someone until it's finished. It's no wonder they only cost $25.

Glad I'm not the only one. Yeah, it's suppose to do what all phones do. That is, make and receive calls and texts anywhere you are via your service plan without having to be connected to WiFi. This phone is just a dud model, I suppose.
