TCL Smart TV Restart on Logo Screen Issue Fix and Unable to Run Firmware Update Issue Solution

This firmware can be used for following models (All other TCL firmwares can be found in comment section):
55C1US, 65C1US,40E5900US, 50E5900US, 55E5900US, 65E5900US, 60E6000US,
55C1CUS, 65C1CUS
Follow the steps below to do factory reset after the new firmware is installed:
1. Press settings button.
2. Go to Picture.
3. Go to Contrast.
4. Press 9-7-3-5 fast.
5. The factory menu will now appear. Select “Reset Shop”, and press the right arrow on the remote.
6. The TV will now reset. Once the TV is reset, and the installation menu is displayed.

@@hhkk6155 Not the file name, you need to change the file extension as ".img". If you do it manually without using above tool, make sure to enable extension to show in windows file explorer. If not probably you will change the file name as "update.img.bin" (because you don't see the actual hidden extension). That is why i created a tool to change the extension easily.

Hello, I was doing a factory reset on my Sony XBR-65X850C and I unplugged it during the process. Now it shows only a SONY logo on startup. Unfortunately I am not able to do a hard reset either. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you.

@this Indian, Goto Sony web site and download the firmware (www.sony.com/electronics/support/product/xbr-65x850c/downloads). Then rename the file as "upgrade_loader.pkg" then copy into a formatted UBS drive. Then plug the USB drive to the tv. Remove main power cable and then press and hold the TV's power button(not in the remote) for around 20 second. Then release the power button and plug the main power cable and turn on the tv. Then you can see the TV's led is flashing slowly in white colour. Then wait and see around 15-60 minutes to complete the new update process. If it is success, you will see the main setup screen. If it is not working unplug the main power and do the exact same step above and before the power on just press and hold the volume down and power switch in the tv together, while doing that turn on the main power. Then you it will do the same update and wait and see for 15-60 minutes. Good luck..!

@yaragi, try hard reset first. 1. Turn off the main power. Press and hold the tv power button for 20S. 2. Then press and hold the volume down and power button on the tv together. While press and hold turn on the main power. See whether it is starting the androide factory reset. Good luck.

Where did you get the .pkg file? From Sony official support site? What is the model number, did you check the model number correctly? Site : www.sony.com.au/electronics/support/televisions-projectors-lcd-tvs/downloads REMEMBER THAT YOU NEED TO RENAME THE .PKG FILE EXACTLY AS THIS > "upgrade_loader.pkg" TO PERFORM THE UPDATE. YOU DON'T NEED TO PRESS ANY KEYS IN THE TV. For Sony try these> 1. Change the USB drive and try again. 2. Format the USB drive using "FAT32" format and UNCHECK the "Quick Format" option. I had the same issue and I fixed it. My method was different, I did not switch the main power off, I just kept pressing the on off button at the rear of the TV for about fifteen seconds and on the screen appeared the information / instructions what to do. It took me two minutes

Sorry, I don't have this firmware. When you tyry to install firmware via USB what happens? Is it not detecting the update file? If yes, check the USB drive format (FAT32 should be worked). And use a low capacity one (less that 8GB is good). And try with all USB ports in the tv one by one.

Yes, most probably the issue is in the software if stuck on Android logo screen. Try updating the firmware. No you don't want to connect the tv with wifi to install firmware via USB drive. Good luck.

Usually, It is low than 30minutes. Just change your USB drive and try. Or reformat the USB drive WITHOUT SELECTING "Quick format".

Usually, It is low than 30minutes. Just change your USB drive and try. Or reformat the USB drive WITHOUT SELECTING "Quick format".
