The tarmac driveway we worked on had been covered by a builders skip for several weeks, resulting in numerous stains from building rubble. Moreover, the driveway was heavily soiled with grime, weeds, and moss. The steps at the doorway were made of blocks, and the pathway beneath the window required thorough cleaning as well. We were concerned about the moss-covered pathway leading to the back garden, as it could become hazardous in wet conditions due to its slippery nature. The back garden featured paths and a crazy pavement area, all of which were covered in moss, grime, lichen, black spots, and white spots. The steps of the back door were constructed with blocks. Our plan involved cleaning the area and then re-jointing the crazy pavement where necessary, as some areas were already missing the joints. Once the surfaces were clean and dry, we intended to re-sand the blocks for both the front and back doors.
We started working on the back garden from the farthest end and progressed towards the front driveway.
Upon cleaning each section, we made sure to wash away any splashes on walls, doors, windows, etc. After finishing with the driveway, we proceeded to wash down the road to leave the public road cleaner. The crazy paved area was then re-jointed.
The following day, upon our return, we found the blocks had dried completely. We proceeded to brush fill the joints with kiln-dried sand and carefully checked for any missed splashes in the areas.
