Sorry to hear such a terrible story. Although he was arrested in the war zone for whatever reasons Americans should have treated him as a juvenile even if he was in Afghanistan. I would suggest seek legal help and file a lawsuit against the USA government online. Americans' army (umm army irrespective of the country) might be bad on the battlefield but their justice system is almost very fair therefore I believe you will win. Trust in Allah and go ahead seek compensation. He still seems abnormal even after the post-prison life. if American soldiers are entitled to PTSD then why not this innocent Kohistani not only for his mistreatment in prisons and but also for PTSD after prison ordeal. Can someone help him with the lawsuit?
