With today's super cars made realistic af, YES! My grandparents got me a TCR set for Christmas '79 & '80. I was 11 & 12 back then and spent hours playing with my TCR set. I just bought a NOS set for my grandson. I'm looking forward to playing with it. I had a TCR accessory I've never seen here on KZbin or EBay, the "Speed boost module". It replaced the section where the power and controllers plugged in. It's top was clear plastic so you could see the electronics inside it. My old man made me toss out all my tracks when we moved. He was a d*ck. Cheers from America!

cool, brings back happy memories from the early 80s. my dad made a chipboard base & set it up in the sunporch and extended tracks and tonnes of cars, i even had smokey and the bandit with a juggernaut at one point. i used to love the electric burnout smell and the headlamps with the lights out.

This has got to be the finest example of TCR ever made!! I myself have TCR and it's a phenomenal system that is easily hacked, easy to mod and works very well. If you want racing sound, you can wire an AFX or Tyco stadium that has racing sound at the bottom of the track. As for cleaning, 90% rubbing alcohol and a clean rag will clean it, also for the cars pickup shoes, a pencil eraser and rubbing alcohol.

Hey Deathstrike, I too, after 35 years have bought TCR again. Missed the fun ! Try waxing your pieces of track with Carnauba... Turtle Wax. I could not believe the improvement !

Ive never seen a TCR track this size, let alone the cars being this fast! apparently this gentlemen purchased alot of TCR sets along with every accessory made when TCR first came on the scene and based on this video alot of modification was probably done. THIS IS AWESOME DUDE!! YOU SHOULD'VE BEEN A SPOKES MODEL FOR TYCO ETC......AND SHOWED ALL THE POSSIBILITIES OF TCR!!!.....WITH THIS SAID MAYBE TYCO WOULD STILL BE IN BUSINESS. Takes me back to being a ten year old I think in 1981 and playing on my own much smaller TCR setup. My cars had illuminated headlamps but my track did not have side barriers, so the cars flew off the track constantly.

The video is awesome. I love how it starts! Music stops, starts with an explosion as sparks shoots out and the music starts. Epic. TCR was a dream toy when I was little. Thundershift 500 was as far as we got.

I had TCR as a kid. I remember it having 3 levels and when it got to the highest level it became more like a ramp and launched the cars into the shelves. Great fun. I remember having a yellow datsun which was the fastest and a porsche that may have been bought afterwards. Did other manufacturers make cars for the tracks as I remember it being much slower and noisier than the datsun Z28?

my brother got this set and brand new it never worked. Cars were always disconnecting from the power track and if you were on the inside lane on a turn you'd just go strait into the outside rail. We were young and not knowing much, but it should at least go around the track once!

My brother got it for Xmas one year. We loved it but maintaining the cars was a pain and in hindsight it didn’t require skill like scaelextrix does . Still loved it though

Great video, you guys have a bad ass track. I have a question for you, my track does this thing where my cars drive an inch and then stop and when I click the wheel to lane change it sends my cars flying backwards. If you have any thoughts on what it might be please email me back
