I got the deluxe reverb and experienced "no clean headroom past 3, etc". Firmware update was PERFECT, clean headroom to 6-7, breakup transition feels much more natural, very amp-like response and feel. Is there gonna be a Jims 100 or Jims 50? Good work on the quick update, i almost returned the pedal, i am glad i waited for the update

1. If you guys made one of these just to host convolution reverbs, you'd blow any other reverb pedal out of the water. The reverb on the combo deluxe sounds perfect. Make one with a '63 spring tank, some classic plates, some great rooms and halls, and user IR slots, and it'd be the best reverb pedal on the market. 2. If you made IRs user changeable, I'm convinced you'd sell more than 25% more of these. The IR isn't just the choice of speaker. It's how it's miked. That's very personal. When you have one IR, you have a whole pedal that some fans of the amp like and many others don't. You allow people to choose their IR, and every fan of the amp gets what they want out of it.

I got the JIMS 800. I love it. Been using it to record direct and headphones quiet playing. It is awesome. Great for 80's thrash metal and hardcore and early 90's death metal

Would be cool to see how they take pedals in front. The Jims 45 with a distortion in front would be interesting...but great job! They all sound amazing!

The Combo Deluxe ‘65 firmware update … Thanks for the clean headroom! It really made the pedal much more usable. It probably would have been returned if the update wasn’t made available, but now it stays!

Thanks guys! I'm really enjoying the combo deluxe 65. I've owned a few of the popular amp sim options and this is my favorite so far for price and simplicity. Few things I would love to see: 1. Option to turn one output to a "thru" output like a DI box. That way I can split my output signal to audio interface & real amp (so the interface gets the direct cab sim out and the amp gets my dry guitar signal) 2. Option to independently turn the reverb on without the amp. I would be cool to use this pedal as just a reverb - particularly when the pedal lives on your board but your running into a real amp. 3. Pull the reverb algorithm out into its own dedicated reverb pedal - it's great!

I become a big fan of tc electronic just because of AMPWORX DUAL WRECK. Been using POLYTUNE and DITTO for a long time. AMPWORX just got a special place for me. Great work guys. In a process hopefully to change every pedal to a tc electronic. This is how much I respect you guys. ✊🏽

The dual wreck should have a "chaosphere" mode, since it's the TC integrated preamp with a rectifier ran through marshall cabs. Just some food for thought, it would be really cool to get such a legendary tone from a pedal that small.

This is great. I've been after a simple plug in and go AC style simulator but when I heard the first demos I was a bit put off because it sounded too much like a specific vintage AC30 studio piece that you might use more as an effect in a song. Now it sounds like I know the AC to sound as a versatile platform to shape how you want. Good job lads it sounds real! Also I love that you did pre and post option for the boost. It might be pushing it into a new category but a 20-30W class D output would be amazing or maybe a companion pedal to go with this.

Good work on these pedals TC! I got my JIMS 800 a week ago and it's working well as a rehearsal replacement for my Marshall DSL40CR or JCM2000 amp to go direct to my band's Behringer XR18 digital mixer. The firmware update process took a few attempts - the pedal connected to my Windows laptop was not getting registered by your firmware software. One thing that you could do to make these more widely adaptable is add Tone Print beaming IR loading! 🤓 It would be great if these could work with a future software/firmware interface tool to enable users to load a wider selection of IRs and add/or some room reverb/ambience. The JIMS 800 ships with a Celestion G12-65 4x12 IR - would like to try other Celestion IRs like V30 or G12T-75 IR. Thanks!

You said you are listening to your customers...then listen to me know, your COMBO 65 with the new update, replaced my beloved UA Dream 65 and even my Kemper , this little cheap TC sounds way better, feels way better and it's much easier to tweak in LIVE situations, the only one out there that nailed the reverb sound and beheavior and even that BRIGHT switch made the difference , also the both channels possibility and easy to store the presets automatically and switch off when you need it bypassing it when use my amp,,,, a total WINNER !!! so thank you TCelectronic, you nailed it .... p,s, I'm playing live every night with my band since many years ago and using all kind of gear you can imagine. This one is the closest to the real tube amp.

I'm thinking about getting the JIMS 800. I think it would nail that early Death tone (before using a Valvestate 8100 in ITP), like Spiritual Healing album etc. That being said, it would be interesting if you made a this kind of preamp with IR inspired by Marshall Valvestate 8100. I love my 8100 (and I also love my 8080) and having it in a box with IR for silent playing would be also nice. Despite the bad reputation of Valvestates, for that old school Death tone it is really awesome. No need for boost. And combining the preamp with a 4×12" G12-T75 IR ... 90's heaven. Sorry for my bad English, it's not my native language. Greetings from Slovakia.

A lot lot better with much more headroom. I couldn't justify keeping as the IR's on my Zoom G6 are better and I have a Tech 21 Blonde which I love and a Tech 21 Trademark 60 with XLR out. The TC is good but still sounds far too digital. @@khg930328

I love my new combo deluxe 65, but do you have to disconnect the power just to turn it off? With the two channels it just goes back and forth so it's always on.

Excellent pedals and I have the 3 high gain ones, but I found the EQ adjustments to be a bit odd with the factory firmware. But having said that i dont have the real amps to compare except a 6505+, but sometimes the treble and mids felt like it was not adjusting them like it would on the amp, especially on the V550, and the dials felt like they were doing something weird with the EQing. Im playing through a power amp btw, not direct. Keen to try these updates though!

We will soon release a comparison video of the amps that the pedals were modelled by vs. the Ampworx Hi-Gain pedals. Then you can hear for yourself if you can tell the difference. There will also be some explanation of the thoughts that went into the choices made when dialling in the pedals 😉

My Dual Wreck makes an extreme constant loud noise when i plug it into my amp even with the level at zero and does it also when i try to use the DI into FRFR speakers, think it's broken and only had it a month, any ideas what's wrong with it?

Just tried out the new update. Huge improvement on the tones of all pedals! I also you noticed you changed the footswitch to press, and not release (was wondering why it took so long for the amp to change channels). Was trying to work out my issue with the eq knobs, and I think that each knob - treble, mid and bass, feels like it has a much broader frequency spectrum than the actual amp does (my 6505+), and say when I turn up the mids, I'm also turning up the treble and bass each side of it, if that makes sense? anyway thats my 2c, but nice work with the update, sounds killer!

Updated answer by our chief engineer: The tonestack in the 6505+ is very similar to that of the original 5150, but not identical. Both have very interactive controls (each knob also affects adjacent frequency bands), but differ in how wide these interactions are, as you've clearly experienced

I just updated my combo65 and it’s such a huge improvement, bravo and thanks for listening to your customers, TC! Two things to consider from me: 1. Any chance the channel switching can be smoother, without the drop out? 2. (Just a thought and not even sure how it would work) - I know the reverb is interacting with the gain stages, but is it possible to somehow make it a bit more unrealistic in the higher gain settings where the drive makes the reverb sound kinda unpleasant? The second one is just a thought, I love the improvement! Considering getting the AC and a Marshall 🙏

Hey, José from TC here. Thank you for your nice words. Keeping the reverb clean when the amp is overdriven would require a major rework of the amp model, which is probably out of scope, unfortunately. The channel switching mute time is limited by hardware constraints, so it’s not a software decision as such. Really appreciate your feedback and the suggestions on what to improve!

Well, I tried one. Plugged in my 72 dr and miked it, put it in a separate room with my pa in front of me, and plugged in the 65 to the pa. Not even close. Tried to tweak it, but not even close. Returned it the same day.

Curious what that Ibanez Mike is playing is. Looks like an RG but not one I've ever seen before. These pedals are awesome. The high gain ones especially. Hope you keep this line going.

If these had been TonePrint pedals this firmware update would have been redundant (since the mapping of each knob would have been adjustable). Loving the video format nonetheless !

TC, please allow the DI out IR to be user changeable!!! My DC30 sounds great through a power amp/cab/miced up setup but the ir just sounds thin and dull.

The V550 is the way to go for Sykes tones! Clarity of each string but still roaring gain structure which begs for pinch harmonics!🤟🏼 I guess you could also boost the jims800 for a bit more tamed gain compared to the V550

To see the folks from TC on camera demonstrating the changes they were willing to make to a new product based on customer feedback is a powerful demonstration of transparency. There aren't many manufacturers ballzy or confident enough to do something like this. I'm impressed TC! GREAT BALLS!

It would be the PERFECT pedal the combo 65 if it could save in the preset the BRIGHT switch the same way it saves automatically the other parameters so we CD have a darker sound in one Chanel and a brighter sound in the other channel , also wd be perfect if the switching channels was smoother , without loosing volume in the transition… however this pedal is amazing ❤

The dual and the jims45 are on their way to me. I wanted to ask if you are going to do some base amps as well? This should be good idea in my opinion. A good Base ampworx with DI option and good cab IR. What do you think?

PLEASE MAKE AN ALGORITHM UPDATE FOR MIMIQ. Mimiq's stereo setup is NOT USABLE through speakers because when each side of signals gets mixed, strong comb filtering phase problem occurs. I know it's impossible or nearly impossible to make 0% phase problem when forcibly making doubling effect, but I think Mimiq can do better than what it is doing now. Please make an improved algorithm or V2 model.

If I use ampworx as a bypass mode, use it like a drive or distortion pedal, and I use it as a dual channel mode, can use it clean and drive channel? You said that after updating firmware, combo deluxe 65 can make a perfectly clean sound, but don't mention about clean sound of other models. I'm curious that all of the ampworx pedals can make both clean and dirty sound.

Hold down both buttons. It will go into on/bypass mode. "On" being the way you had it set up when you pressed the 2 buttons.

Allowing users to load their own IRs and true stereo inputs and dual amp path (internally) are really the deal breakers that will separate people from buying these pedals or not buying them. Why tc decided to stray from the form factor invented by the Strymon Iridium is puzzling to me. All guitar pedals and pedalboards these days are going stereo. Who will buy something like a 2290P and run it in mono? Many guitar players prefer the sound of delay and reverb and modulation effects in front of their amp(s).

What would really make these pedals better is if you could download different speaker irs. Because I dont particularly love the di sound on my jims 800.
