So a check/cheque is something you can write to pay for something, and he's saying that he pays for his mistakes with reality checks, meaning he faces consequences later on when he fucks up. Reality checks are generally when you get hit with an unexpected issue in life and it makes you have to be realistic. Hope this helps

This is easily one of the best freestyles I've ever heard. I put this up against ANY freestyle performed by ANY rapper EVER. I've watched this lyrical mastery at least 10 times and each time I catch something I didn't hear the previous 9 times. Dude is incredible and should be commended for allowing himself to be vulnerable lyrically.
