I just learned something and had to find this video. Those of us in other parts of the world might wonder why sing Auld Lang Syne before Midnight instead of after? That's actually a trick question. The song being sung here is the same tune but it's completely different otherwise. The song is called Hotaru no hikari. It's essentially the Japanese Graduation song. That makes sense as we are passing the old year into a new one. That's kinda like graduating in a way.
