I believe he used to pronounce his name correctly but he has seemed to have given up and let it be anglicized. It’s Italian the second A is pronounced the same as the first and not as in ‘pal’.

i learned Italian for a few years in primary school so Italian names are easy to pronounce for me. it's like nails down the blackboard when i hear his name mispronounced.
