Tea Ceremony - Awa Saginaw An

The word Chanoyu literally means “hot water.” Although in English we call
it Tea Ceremony, it is less a ceremony but rather a way of life for the
Japanese. It is also called *Chado*, meaning “the way of tea.” As the
goal of chado is to cultivate one’s body and soul all together through
everyday training of tea, practicing and perfecting *chado *takes many
years, and certain aspects of this cultural etiquette can be seen in
Japanese practitioners in the way they walk, talk, or serve tea.
