July 2023 - me enjoying a bonfire on my beloved homestead that was my dream come true. Chickens, horse, rabbits are asleep in a cozy barn, my husband and two dogs are sitting enjoying a clear, beautiful night with some drinks and I put THIS on. Just sitting, sipping drinks, somewhere in Canada, enjoying nostalgia and much needed rest. Blessings to you all. Dreams do come true, if you pray for them.

I'd love that. Calming, soothing music, pleasant surroundings, good company, somewhere to escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life. I love watching period dramas and films made or set in the 1920s, 30s and 40s. I just love the atmosphere, the way people dress and speak.

this gives me major vibes. i imagine wearing a light sundress, sitting on the porch during a sweltering summer day as this music drifts through the open window. the air is still and the heat wraps me in an embrace. it is late afternoon and the cicadas are humming. i haven’t had plans all day. my glass of sweet tea perspires in my hand. I love this music, always have. I'm 34 years old, and for as long as I can remember, I've loved this music. My father, may he rest in peace, also loved this music, and every time I listen to it, beautiful memories of my father listening to this music come to mind and fill my heart. In fact, when he was in bed and no longer showed signs of life, I wanted to say goodbye to him with music like this, while the doctor told us he was gone. I truly love this music.

Listening to this makes me want to feel like a pretty brunette girl in her 20's, who's obsessed with floral wavey dresses and patterned scarfs. She lives somewhere in france and owns a small little pretty java joint/coffee shop in the 1950's. She truly loves the warm sunny spring weather. She's very good at her job, and works at the shop all by herself. Has a small little white cat who she loves dearly. She lives a perfect middle class life in my point of view, i wish to be just like her one day.

I agree, 1930s and 1940s music is great. So is jazz 1920s. And so are those quaint tunes from the 1900s and 1910s, you should listen to some of those sometime as well. I love all of them. I've wondered why I love those old tunes so much, it almost feels like I was around in the early 1900s, but I wasn't because I was born in the 1970s

Amen. They were horrible years to live in for most according to my grandparents, no rights for many, hunger, poverty and corruption. The music, fashion & luxuries are very charismatic though. That's the bit they agree with. But as a mother you would spend your entire Friday or Wash day at a river getting blisters on your knuckles trying to clean clothes. It was called wash day as it took all day to do the wash.

When these musicians were recording their songs and records were not bottled and sold like they are today, they lasted. For instance, I will be 83 next March, and I don't ever remember a high school dance when Hoagy Carmichael's Stardust From the 20's) was not played. My folks (1915-16 respectively) kept these songs alive in our house. My dad was a prominent building contractor in our town of Opelika, Alabama, and once he did some work on our local radio station, "WJHO, the Mouth of the South, pronounce WHO ... the J is silent". The station gave him two boxes of old 78's, and he gave them to me. There were old Columbia, RCA, Blue Bird labels. To this day I can sing the words to most any popular song from the 30's and 40's, but I couldn't sing a current tune if my life depended on it. We were a great people once, Young Folks, we were a great people ... don't forget that.

Everybody loves what they see and hear about that era from films and archive recordings like these. But life was harder, people didn't have the knowledge they have now and life was a bit narrow minded. Life span was about 40 years less and people died of things easily treatable now. But it was more peaceful and less uncertain than now, wasn't it? A war was coming, but it was more romantic.

I live in Sardinia and in my favourite tea room I can enjoy this kind of music with a cup of tea and homemade cakes 😍

I don't know why but I love and always enjoy listening to these kinds of music, melody. It makes me feel like I was born a hundred years ago. Super old music has a special place in my personality, heart, and mind :') I will always love the old vibes!

today's pop music is loud and chaotic, irritates my ears. This is incredibly soothing and immediately makes me feel jolly :D

Beautiful stuff. I shoulda been born around 1890-1900 so I could have been in my prime in the 1920s.

Maybe you were. I see a lot of comments from fans of older music that think they were around in prior times.

It seriously feels that way sometimes. I get feelings of STRONG nostalgia from old songs, books, photos, films, stories, etc. It's strange.

This was music in its heyday. Today's music isn't all bad as some say, but the decades of the 20s, 30s, 40s are matchless. So pleasant, dreamy in many cases.
