Wonderful eye 👀 candy! My mind was pleasantly stimulated as I watched this video; so many delightful elements to gaze at. What I love is that you did not just slap a journal together and call it done, you chose everything very deliberately. Your stitching, your painting, your use of nature, just fabulous! I would have purchased this in an instant had it been for sale. 🖤

A fabulous journal Jibid! You have found so many ways to capture the qualities of tea, both pretty and practical. As someone who grows a good bit of our own medicinals, I can't tell you how excited and inspired your creation makes me. Thanks so much for sharing your talents and thoughts. Hugs! Liz :-)

Lovely. I am a massive tea drinker; I love the smell of coffee but it doesn't love me lol. Mine has to be Yorkshire Gold and strong enough to stand your spoon up in!! I was always told poor people used to put milk in first because their cups weren't made well and they would crack from the heat otherwise. So wealthy people showed off their best china by adding milk afterwards. I don't know if that's actually true but I add milk after because I want the strongest brew, and it cools it down too much affecting the taste for me. Anyhoo, love this sweet little journal 💜
@jibidneary22127 жыл бұрын
Purple Pixie oh I love that story, anecdote thingy! Didn't know that. Yes, I agree tea should be strong, and milk in afterwards. my hubby drinks dishwater. Thankyou as always xx
@purplepixie2747 жыл бұрын
Jibid Neary lol dishwater !! 😂
@loiscassels89667 жыл бұрын
The way I was taught by my British family is that the milk must go in first for two reasons. First, is that when the hot tea was poured into the fine porcelain cup, the milk in the bottom would prevent the cup from cracking. Second, the hot tea would slightly cook the milk, giving a nicer flavour. I prefer my milk in first (and it must be milk, not cream). I can actually taste the difference when the milk is added last.

@margaretbinks25957 жыл бұрын
I wanted to know about the pages /papers you dyed with tea bags ie what flavour/type of tea you used to get the papers to show such lovely colours. I hope I have made myself clearer this time!
@jibidneary22127 жыл бұрын
Margaret Binks oh now I see you probably mean the pink colours do you? I've just had a look in my cupboard, I am in the uk, I don't know if you will have the same brands but I'm sure the effect will be similar by using the same fruit teas. Tetley's super fruits blueberry and raspberry Tetleys cranberry and elderflower. Twinings cranberry and raspberry. Twinings cherry and cinnamon. And PG tips blackcurrant. I'm afraid I can't remember which was which, some didn't colour all that well, but the blackcurrant one was good for sure, I remember that one cos it was the one with a string still attached. And I notice that the twinnings are square bags and the Tetleys are round, maybe that will help you narrow it down using the video. Hope this helps, and of course the non pink ones are just whatever tea bags you have around. X

This is just gorgeous Jibid! This might seem like a silly ? As this all new to me,and I will make a book one day, but the images like the flower fairies and Peter rabbit, can these just be used without running into copyright issues? I want to be sure before using golden books that I have and such. I guess if you use just one image and not the entire book it's ok, right? I'm confused😊
@eveny1197 жыл бұрын
I think theres several factors. If you are making something for yourself anything goes. If you plan on selling it, theres certain rules. One is age of material If I copied an illustration from a 1867 book that I own I don't think there's any copyright laws. But if I reproduced copies and sold them on ebay my copies may be protected? But I'm not sure. I do know people sell copies of antique and vintage paintings, cards, ads etc...on ebay and some say you can use them for crafts that you sell like journals, but you cant just sell their copies alone.
@jibidneary22127 жыл бұрын
Jess jta designs hi jess, no not silly at all my dear, copyright laws should not be ignored, but are complicated and different according to where you live. Peter rabbit is public domain because of when it was written, though I believe that some of her later works are still too recent. Flower fairies you are permitted to use original pages of a book you have purchased, but not copies. I hope this helps you x
@jessjtadesigns7 жыл бұрын
Jibid Neary thank you and it does help, most of what I've read are law based and complicated. xxoo
@eveny1197 жыл бұрын
When you said a journal about tea I imagined Alice in Wonderland but you only used a library card mention... I don't know how you managed to find all the other tea related items? Do you collect items over a long period of time and sort for later use or start when someone wants a certain subject ? Stacking tea cups? lol The only thing I thought of was to have a collection of tea bag tags or a couple of blank pages with little squares, like a baseball card collection. But I then thought would a tea room serve bagged tea or use only loose tea? So how do you make tea? I thought you just were suppose to bung a tea bag in a cup of boiling water? No? Lol
@jibidneary22127 жыл бұрын
eveny119 haha, I'm not going to get into that lol ;) but yes, to answer your question, my journals take a long time to make, 7-10 days is typical. That means my waiting list is by necessity a very long one. Which gives an advantage of having a long time to both think about things, and can also look out for things at the shops when I know I have a subject coming up, or have time to order some nice materials etc :) x
