I followed your advice when my daughter was about 21-22 months old. I made flash cards per your recommendation and used daily. My hope was that she would learn her sounds by the time she was three. Much to my surprise she had everything down pat by her second birthday (so she had learned them in about 2-3 months). She frequently will see letters in her environment and tell us their sound. She knows them in and out of order and upper and lower case. It really astonished us and other people. My encouragement to any parent reading this is: just try it. See what happens. It’s not a race to get your child to read as quickly as you can, but it is astonishing what children are able to learn at young ages. Just go at your child’s pace and see what they’re capable of.

I thought I was losing myself as a mom. Postpartum depression, anger issues, and too focused on my stress that I didn’t realize the pain and hurt I was causing to my son and to our bond. I asked God for help. While looking for that help your channel came to my sight. There are no such things as coincidences. I will teach my son using everything you’ve advised. You’ve reminded me of how everything should be. I’m inspired to change for my son and myself. Already I’ve become a much more patient person. Thank you for the love you hold in your heart to teach the wandering from going astray. You’ve humbled me. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Thank you for your wisdom. 🙏

Hello Jady! I would like to make a request could you make a video on how to teach long and short vowel sounds. Thank you so much.
@artisticcraftz3 жыл бұрын
Even i need it!!
@ShammyM.3 жыл бұрын
I think it comes naturally I used her method with my first born. By grade 1 he was use to the short sounds. After he was comfortable with short sounds I explained that vowels have two sounds. So I would ask him what's the short sound and what's the long sound. Short is just the sound long is the letter.
@JadyA3 жыл бұрын
Yes I can talk more about this, but the first thing is to master short vowel sounds as mentioned in this video in this age group and read phonetic books which only focus on the short vowel sounds such as the Bob's books. I would say long vowel sounds come later in first to second grade. They should not be taught together in my experience.
@bluesouthpaw63263 жыл бұрын
When two vowels go walking, the first one does the talking. Ex: bean Or bossy e jumps over the consonant and orders the vowels to say their names. Ex: rice As simple as that
@Famaly3 жыл бұрын

Don't stress my niece turned 3 last week. I started quite early with her. You have to be persistent but gentle. Make it interesting try to start of with 3 or 4 sounds a day. High contrasting flash cards work best. I followed alot of Jady A tips and they work. Also play the video of her little girls singing the letter sounds song . Sing along with her. She will soon be interested. The video was a tool I used everyday. It really got her happy to see other kids being interested in learning.

I’m going to share this video on my Class Dojo page and I will only hope my parents whose kids are struggling will watch this .
