What are the 14 techniques in this book that aren't in the original 49 technique book?

It's not that simple. Some of the techniques were originally overloaded and became individual techniques later. For example, 18. Check for understanding became an entire section on formative data collection in TLAC 2.0. There were also 14 unnumbered techniques in the back of 1ed, so some techniques were jettisoned or combined. TLAC was a good book for its time, but 3.0 is head and shoulders better. You should read it. It's on Audible, too.

@@DangRenBo I guess some people believe TLAC is behaviorism (dog-clicker) for kids forcing compliance getting them ready for compliant job force questioning where the agency, autonomy, creativity, sovereignty, choice in his methodology.

@@chuckkoehler9526 Sure, yes. Some people believe that. I'd guess that most people who believe that haven't read TLAC 2.0 or 3.0, which address this misconception head on. Classroom management is an important part of teaching. Hattie, Marzano, Wang also agree on this. But CM is only about 30% of TLAC. Questioning techniques, discussion technique, building thinking, building writing -- these are all part of it, as well. TLAC is not a prescription, though. It's best used as a way to create a common vernacular among teachers and instructional coaches, and they choose which techniques to use or not based on their stakeholders.
