The show is Cyanide and Happiness is just the name of the show. There is only a few clips with reoccurring characters but it’s mostly just one plot sketches

The name comes from one of the very earliest comics (it started out as an online comic series before expanding to shorts). In this comic, character A has baked a cake and character B is offered a piece. B asks what's in the cake, to which A replies 'Cyanide and Happiness'.

The name Cyanide & Happiness is an inside joke reference from the creator of this series. Long story short he had a skit about back alley cotton candy. The ingredients were Cyanide & Happiness. That's the name he used for his new series. Yup the name origin is as random as the series itself.
