I really dont get why they didn't just make this half of the season season 8. It feels like a whole new season anyways. New headmaster, a bunch of pupils left, there's new pupils, a bunch of teachers left, there's new teachers etc. Everything you get from the start of a new season. I think its a new school year as well. Finn and Josh and Lauren etc. were in Year 12 in season 7 part 1 and now they're in Year 13, Denzil and Scout were year 10 now they're year 11. Everyone looks obviously older because it's been a year. It just makes sense for it to be season 8 rather than 7.
