The sad thing is, whenever a student speaks up against racist ass shit, the teacher rarely gets in trouble. More often than not, the student gets in trouble. At least that's how it was when I was in school. I'm white and grew up in a predominantly white town. I remember one of my classmates sitting next to me one day and saying that her hometown was turning into n*****town... yeah, took me seconds to call her out on that shit. Turns out, the principal didn't think it was that big of a deal and told me to stop trying to cause trouble. Hopefully, it's getting better now. At least more people are realizing that racism is so much more than just an offensive word. It's deeply ingrained into every facet of society, made to benefit straight white men and putting anyone outside of that at a disadvantage. The problem in my situation wasn't so much the girl saying the n-word. It was the person who had the authority to make a difference doing nothing and letting it happen.

You cant expect to build a country on foul violent energy then expect the answer to be 100% peaceful 100% comfortable to deal with.. if not 100% its atleast 89%.. that still a big percentage that needs to be addressed ..black people are held accountable by others if not their own..other races show tribalism usually and dont hold each other accountable even if they know they're wrong.. the only solution is to call out any foul energy even if its uncomfortable to do so.. even if you loose friends..real friends tell you about your shit anyway than kiss your ass and say hes an ass but imma let him slide..letting people slide makes them think their views are right. The way things are in this country stems from how it was obtained ..and the decision to bring slaves ..that's the truth.

When I was a junior in high school, we were reading texts in AP Language and the teacher had someone read out loud...and of course they skipped over the n-word. But then the teacher was like, “you don’t get the full effect of the text when you leave out words” and then he reread it and said the n-word...I’ve always gone to predominantly white schools but I have never in my life see a teacher so comfortable using a racial slur to a whole class, some of which was made of black students...and he was an old white man. Like the fact that I know he says that every year when he teaches the class...it’s just disturbing tbh.
@jailyn50854 жыл бұрын
Peep Dafrog no, I understood just fine. But regardless, a teacher in the public school system has no business using any sort of racial slurs for any reason. Maybe in private schools that’s acceptable but when you’re teaching the masses and you’re working for the government, that’s unacceptable.
@woosh63404 жыл бұрын
@Peep Dafrog the issue is your point isn't solid. Just because it's in the text, doesn't mean you need to read it aloud. I had a black teacher and we were reading a book that had the n-word. My school is predominantly black but we skipped it. Just because it's written down, doesn't mean you gotta let everyone know "to all the black kids in the class." It's disrespectful to say a slur and you are not part of the community that is a slur. Like calling someone a fag if you aren't gay. Or the n-word and you aren't black. Slurs in a book should never be read aloud to kids. Ever.
@woosh63404 жыл бұрын
@Peep Dafrog you don't know the context of the book either so? Your point is? Not saying I know but like, saying the n-word in a book and saying it isn't offensive is just retarded. Telling me "what I was doing was wrong, society says it's wrong, and I was being filthy, and I needed to be with someone who was of my own kind". I remember being so confused, not understanding what he was talking about, or what his reasoning meant. He was so angry and disgusted with me and I just didn't get it. We should be educating ourselves more and show them that we are just as smart as anyone else and in their case, smarter because racism is one of the dumbest shit ever. I joined them bcs I was treated like shit for being mentally ill, but when it came to punishments, I'd get something less severe bcs I'm white. So if I said that I was "acting out" along with them, we would get less harsh punishments. It was really bad for this one girl, bcs she had the darkest skin out of all the other black kids. She was fucking stalked almost by that teacher. If she breathed wrong, she'd get punished. We're 20 now and when she talks about elementary school she still gets really upset. That shit traumatized her. That's why it pisses me off when ppl say kids don't see racism. Only white kids don't see racism, we can do that bcs we're not met with it daily.
