Hello Learning Project Family and in today's video I will share a fun event that my students experienced at school this week and I will also share some words of wisdom from my dynamic former principal. Being able to distinguish between who is a friend and who is a colleague has helped me so much along my teacher journey. If you can relate, please comment and let me know!
As always, thanks for watching, subscribing, liking and keep those comments coming!

Thank you for saying this! This is so true and many people need to hear it! Colleagues and friends are different!

This was very relevant to me! Friends and colleagues are very different and be careful that you know the difference.

Hi and I'm glad this helped! Yes, when my principal shared this, it really helped me gain perspective on boundaries and realistic expectations from colleagues.

Our principals are working so hard to build collaborative relationships and better practices.

I've been blessed to have very kind, professional, genuinely caring principals and administration. I recognize not every teacher has this type of leadership but mine have been dynamic!

I agree. I’ve worked at some schools where the staff was friendly and helpful, and I’ve worked at some schools where colleagues didn’t want to work together or had their own cliques. Currently, my kindergarten team is helpful. We look out for each other. Some teachers can be petty and messy, though. You do have to differentiate between the friends vs the colleagues.

I'm glad your current Kindergarten team works well together. This is so important to our mental health as well.

I REALLY needed to hear this.. recently discovered that some teachers I thought were my friends weren’t. Kinda disheartening honestly.

Hello and sorry that you've encountered this reality too! For me, it was a tough but needed experience that helped me put people and situations in the right perspective.

Thank you! Unfortunately, this applies to other work environments as well.

I taught for 8 years and it would be a toss up as to who was the most irritating that is between the teachers and the kids. I’ll have to come down on the side of the teachers being even worse than the kids since as adults you’d expect more. The lecture method needs to be automated out of existence by the device of computer labs which contain a vast inventory of lectures which might actually be interesting seeing as how they’d be performed by experts in their field, rather than simplistic blow-hards such as the typical school teacher tends to be. Then replace the teachers with tutors who are there to answer questions rather than deliver boring lectures to the semi-comatose all day long.

Hi and thanks for sharing your views. Good point with calling out teachers who add to the problem! You are so correct!

Hello and thanks for asking!LoL! T.B. (ringworm) is still a tad bit itchy but looks so much better and I'm hoping T.B.2 (cough and sore throat) will go away with the extra rest and relaxation that Spring Break will provide. Also, being away from my germy students will help too.LoL!

I don't agree, people need to work together to get the job done easier and happier. People hate their jobs because no one on the job is on the same page as you. Good bosses envelope all their employees and treat them well off and on the job.
