I'm American, with no Scottish ancestry and I know these songs, then agaigain, I like good music. We had to learn some of them in elementary school, though that was like 22-17 years ago. I guess education has changed. Great performance as always, Dr.K!

Brendan, again you amaze me with your abilities to identify with everyone that actually hears the sounds coming from those public pianos with a Master at the keyboard .. More amazingly mate, are the numbers of people, most not even turning their heads as you play .. It simply doesn't equate .. I'm one of your 1.4M subscribers who looks forward to each video posted .. Cheers !

The Scottish band, Runrig, popularized a rocked-up version of "Loch Lomond" in the 1980-90s to the point where it was regularly sung at the end of Scottish parties and at football games. The Scots need another band to step up and make it relevant again.

A little late for the party. I, myself am proud to be English, Man of Kent, and I am dismayed that many people have lost touch with their culture to not know or appreciate what it means to be English, Scottish, Welsh or Irish. It is sad that the Irish, Welsh and the Scots are no longer educating the children in the music or even their own language.
@lesleyriseam12822 жыл бұрын
Thats not true , both traditional music and modern composition . Suggest you look up The Mod and Machir . Every small town in Scotland has its own bagpipe and drums band . The number of accordian and fiddle bands , live music pre pandemic was available in most towns . I know this as I am an English woman who learned to sing in Scots and Gaelic .

Sad. I’m an American and even I know, have heard, more songs than a native Scotland tune. This is a sad, very sad, condemnation of our education systems. “You take the high road and I’ll take the low road…”. Much less than the other tune that, we as Americans have appropriated as our own. Pretty girl, but sadly unaware of her heritage!
