I bought a G920 half a year ago but never acquired a handbrake, so my entire learning process has been without one, and while I still suck a lot, I can confirm that not having a handbrake isn't an issue for anyone who wants to drift.

yea i just have the th8a and use the sequential addon for it as a handbrake you can even do that with the logitech shifter

I'm gonna try these myself. I got the t150 and while I have no issue with Assetto, trying to drift in CarX seems like the car is on ice any time I try to kick it sideways even a little

It took me a month or two to get consistent and smooth, throttle control is a huge part of it, if you can figure out throttle and weight transition you're set 😁

so. i'm new. i drift a lil bit IRL. any tips to help me bridge the gap to "feel" traction? it feels like a guessing game vs a real car. i dunno. hard for me to explain. but thats my struggle. hard to tell when the slipping/gripping point hits. forced feedback doesnt cut it for me. its like i need a vibrator for my chair (thats what she said) to let me know when im slipping/spinning.

@@jacobkennedy6820 that's really tough, if you have the extra cash buttkickers are a great upgrade that gives you some of that vibration when your traction starts to break loose, outside of that it's unfortunately more a function of getting used to reading the feedback the wheel does give you 😮‍💨 if you tune your suspension to be a little softer and dial your bump/rebound down a bit it should let you see/feel more of the weight transfer the car is doing and feel some of the road surface through the wheels vibration 😁 hope this helps!!

drifting really clicked with me a few days ago. the way i learned to not lose angle while maintaining speed is holding the wheel more and not letting the car self steer as much. not sure if you already said that since im 5 minutes in and havent finished yet:D

@@Dagger_Lxcky if you watch some video's it isn't hard. I play ps4 myself with a logitec but it looks bad, game glitches and no mods available. Pc has more compatible wheels, looks way way better, less glitches and many mods available.

Update, I went from unable to make a single corner without spinning out to chaining the entire first circuit in the first car to learning multiple cars within 2 hours. I already had some basis of throttle control from a crapload of hours playing dirt rally 2.0 and combining that with the very basic setups and rules. I legitimately feel confident in myself to keep at it and progress further.
