I love this series! I'm the process of trying to spread this game around my gaming community, and this is really helpful!

New list video idea: cards where the lower level version is better than the higher level version? (More investigators that can use it well, not worth the upgrade, etc)

This is almost my Finn deck from Carcosa =D. Slip Away has the added bonus that, since it has Evade in bold, counts as Finn's free evade action. Great thing for new players to internalize. Would Tony work for new players? Finn and Trish are cluevers, and Winnie is flex. Not sure if there are any non-Tony Rogue fighters if that's the new player's interest.

I took a Guardian and Seeker through Night of the Zealot and I'm taking a different duo of Guardian/Seeker through Dunwich Legacy. When I play my next campaign, either Innsmouth or Edge of the Earth, I want to try and bring a Rogue. If I were to use someone like Winnifred, what partner investigator would you guys recommend?

I would recommend someone who shores up her weaknesses, mainly low willpower. A Mystic like Jacqueline Fine or Agnes would work well.

Wini naturally excels at the succeed by X archetype, so someone with token manipulation like Jacqueline Fine would be a great partner. I partnered Wini with Patrice Hathaway through the Dream Eaters because Patrice can just commit her entire hand (if able) to Wini's tests which also help succeed by X.

is fighter wini any good? I'm thinking about running her with Ursula through my blind run of TFA

Fighter Wini can work, she does need a good draw engine and lots of combat boosts/icons and wild icons to reach high enough combat levels if she's to be your primary fighter. Her base 3 combat makes it more difficult compared to someone like Tony Morgan or Mark Harrigan, which is not to say it's impossible. There are cards that leverage her high agility (backstab, cheap shot, 25 automatic, Hatchet Man / Sneak Attack / Delilah for bonus damage after evading). You can also upgrade into Momentum to commit to evasion tests so a subsequent fight test is easier.

@@chrisismymiddlename5922 I love playing her with Sleight of Hand Luparas, Lucky Cigarett Cases and Pickpocketings Lv2 as a core. You get all the economy you need and Draw cards like crazy combined with her abillity. And the Luparas are pure brutal fun. Have fun with back up weapons (even the two handed mashine which name I forgot), maybe put a Swift Reload in there and go crazy on the skill cards. I like Pilfer for burst clueing as well since money isn't a big problem. You can be really creative with your deck. Your fellow investigators will be buffled by the flashy combo turns you get. Oh. And put a few mythos pritection cards in there like any unstanle Rogue. Be aware of all your moving parts and that sometimes you will just get the worst luck and need to recover. But that's the Winni(ng) way anyway \;-) PS. Always take Opportunists Lv2 in any Winni deck!

I'd like a more detailed description of why putting curse tokens in the bag sucks. Which videos can I see it in?
@chrisismymiddlename59222 жыл бұрын
Basically a curse is "-2, draw another token. Return this token to the token pool after this test ends." This effect can randomly cause you or teammates to fail more tests (or fail to succeed by x) down the line. PlayingBoardGames also have a "curses matter" video with more details on curses.

It sucks specifically for new players in our experience because it has the potential to cause "feel bads" for those players. They'll be more likely to remember a test that the curse token caused to fail as opposed to the tests where curse tokens don't matter. Experienced players understand that curse tokens are not an issue, but new players do not have that experience and it's best to avoid using curse tokens when focusing on playing with new players (which is what this series focuses on).
