Having the student in his-her comfort zone is my primary goal from the beginning; this is what I do: I set a glowing light on my side, giving my study room a cozy atmosphere; behind me, I have some colorful pillows; and a range of books over the shelf. Students, especially shy speakers and beginners, experience calm and the warmth of the place is an effective, unspoken „I‘m listening“ statement.
