Who would put a thumbs down to this video? These might just be people who are full of hatred in their minds and hearts and definitely knew nothing about teaching the right and most effective way :) Kabayan, I love how you did the teaching! I wish I got to watch this vid a long time ago, I would have copied the "Yum Yum" Trick in one of my lessons :) I was an ESL teacher for all levels too in China and so I know I would never be wrong to say that you are doing a real good job in teaching these Chinese kids. That's the right approach to teach 'em, the ONLY way, actually, to get them learning easily and with willingness to ever learn English again. Keep it up! I hope you're safe from this COVID-19 right now. God bless!

@@carolinaestrada4624 Hi, Carolina. First of all, thank you for watching my videos and for appreciating what I do. Regarding the question whether we are given lesson plans and materials here in China, some schools do provide everything from main materials to lesson plans, however some don't...like the schools I'm working in, they provide the main material but I plan my lessons to fit the needs and learning styles of my students. Normally, at the beginning of the semester, I prepare a flexible lesson plan to test the level of the students. The lesson covers a wide range of vocabulary so as to know how much the students know already and which ones should be focused on. From there, I begin to write and plan my succeeding lessons. :)

In colonial Australia they hung plates like that around the neck of Aboriginal leaders and called them "kings" in order to trick them and steal their land, rape their women and destroy their culture. Not that it's really relevant. Just a fun fact for ya.
