My students love letter bug and would love to see a vowel teams option. Question: do you correct all the packet and practice pages students do during win and center time?

I do, yes! It's only about 5-6 students per day though since it is spread out throughout the week. And most of the pages are very easy and quick to correct!

I am going to purchase Letter Bugs for my class and the kids always ask...Did you get this from the teacher you love to watch on KZbin?☺We are finishing silent e and will be starting vowel teams and r-controlled patterns In Benchmark Advance and would love to have this as an option to practice in Letter Bugs during WIN. What are your thoughts about Benchmark Advance? For K-2 specifically? We are having to change curriculums for next year and that is a choice.

​@@JesseB38 This is our third year of implementing it and I am not a fan of any boxed curriculum but we have found ways to make it work for our 1st graders. It is very fast paced - especially the phonics piece. Some units use good mentor texts and other units we bring in texts to help support the concepts the kids are expected to master. We also are lucky enough to have IXL that has a Benchmark component that matches the lessons for each week. This is our first year teaching the specific Benchmark writing and grammar lessons, so we are working through that as a team. The one nice thing is the amount of materials to use are manageable and it's nice to have everything online so you don't have to drag a bunch of teachers guides for planning. Hope this helps! Good luck - it's a big decision.

Does it align with the Science of Reading? That is a big component that we are looking for in what we choose.
