I love his accent he doesn't need to sound American...his accent is like the essence of his native tongue.🥰

@@TheCorismatic and a lot of Americans and as a matter of fact a lot of people don't use proper grammar when they speak. At least he speaks some English which we can still understand and if Ling wants to teach correct pronunciations, she has to be serious about it and not make fun of him. He looks like he is having fun with it though and I think he can say the words properly and he is playing games with her.

I believe she’s just showing the comical side of trying to teach someone the proper way of saying things. I don’t think she wants to change him, obviously they’re together, obviously she loves him! 😊✨💕

@@JasmineThanai I agree. I think they were just having fun. I don't want him to change. I understand perfectly what he is saying and sometimes he talks so fast that we can forgive him for mispronouncing his words.

@@TheCorismatic glad you get my point. I love his accent and too many Americans want to change people from other countries with a different accent into sounding American when Americans themselves need educating in speaking properly and using proper grammar. I hear Americans on tv speaking and pronouncing their words wrongly: e.g two people is one another, more than one is each other, simple things like that. So I say to Ling "leave him that way. You met him, fell in love and married him speaking like that. Changing his words wouldn't make him love you any more or any less. It would only make him conscious of the way he speaks. Ling: we understand and love him, and as a matter of fact we love you too. So just be happy and enjoy your lives together. God bless you both and God bless you too Corisma .
@JudyT868
@JudyT868 2 жыл бұрын
@@TheCorismatic Thank you. People have to remember that English is a learned language. They should go back to Shakespeare and see how they spoke in those days. Even in the UK people speak differently with different accents and bad English. We learned English grammar in school in Trinidad and we were also taught English literature where we had to translate the meaning of certain phrases from the text. I had a Nigerian teacher who taught French at my high school and I loved it and the students never paid attention to his accent - just wish I had done better in french, though I can understand a little (peu).🤔😀🇹🇹🇨🇦

I agree with him by explaining how he grew up with his grandmother. At least he can speak English. Ling, do not try to change him. That's the essence of him. I love the way he pronounces his words, right or wrong. It's very endearing. And maybe, maybe, that's the way he was taught. We understand what he is saying. Even people who speak proper English pronounce words badly. If you try too hard to correct him every time he wrongly says a word, he will become very conscious of it. Just let it be. It's like taking away his identity. Anyway, you two are too precious to really criticize. It's what makes the show what it is. Bless you both.

My husband watches this with me just to hear his Nigerian brother speak. My husband has lost some of his accent unless he's speaking with his family. In fact, I never hear it unless he says something I cannot understand. I always loved his accent, and listening to his family speak. They make all the words seem so much more expressive.

First of all, I like how this is couple’s therapy😉😂😂 Second of all, between this video and the one where Lamb was teaching Ling Yoruba, I get the feeling that she hasn’t really spent a lot of time in Nigeria or with Nigerians (which isn’t a bad thing btw). Lamb just got comfortable speaking with his Nigerian accent, and he’s gotta expose her to more of our cultures to level the playing field💯. Now that I’m watching this, I’m gonna be more intentional about my American partner getting exposed to my culture and learning Yoruba which he wants to do too. ALWAYS love y’all!❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thanks Ling. Just updated my spoken English from you. The little errors commonly found in Nigerian English is not class sensitive, even University Lecturers are equally culpable. Thanks Ling once again.

He's doing a good job on learning but when he said I do , all of that went out da door , it's because he was trying to be impressive now that he has you in his life he no longer has to do any of that stuff . We all be like that before we say I do . The things we do to land our soul mate. I just adore you guys it brings me so much joy to see you guys genuinely happy together and having a blast cracking me up keep up the good work 😅
