Saying you want your kids to feel they can come to you for anything in life is very good words. I just wish I was brought up with that opportunity. Strict my old man. But I know he wanted the best for me. Just never knew how. He taught me fishing though. And a lot of other things. 👍🏻😂

What an amazing Dad you are Chris!!! Your kids are so lucky to have you. Like you, I was brought up driving cars & trucks off road with my Dad. The very first thing I had a drive of was a K-reg ERF E12 TX with a 13 speed fuller. After a few stalls I mastered the clutch and can honestly say it was one of the best days of my life!! I went with my Dad in the truck at any chance I could and also helped my Dad when fixing the car. I put all that input into the knowledge & skills I have today. As you said, trying is the only way you learn. Experience & knowledge aren’t given, they’re earned. Chris, you are an amazing person & I have nothing but the utmost of respect & admiration for you. All the best to you & all the family mate 🤠🤞

In Canada manual shift is considered a form of Anti theft device on a vehicle. I taught both of our sons how to drive stick at around 12 years old in case of emergency situations. They both sweated buckets when driving in the UK on the left hand side of the road 🤪. Both myself and my wife learned to drive in Derby.

Just gone through 7 sessions with my 17 year old. Sod paying extreme prices, use wife's car, Nissan Qashqai 1.5, insurance from Veygo for an hour is like £7!! She's now ready for proper lessons to teach her how to pass her test - she's picked it up really well! Wife got new car, so she's not allowed to use that, and mine is a 3.0 v6 auto.... so that's a none starter for a learner!! 🤣 I think in time your kids will get the best start to life with you around Chris, practise makes perfect!!

Learned to drive on my Dads farm a series 3 Land rover. I think I was around 12 year old. Used love cruising up the track's was great craic then I turned 17 years old he started making me Reverse it with live stock trailer on it. I thought it was less fun. Now been driving for year's 😂😂. Thats true that the time I spent with the old man driving fishing. Lots of great time's. Miss the old bugger now but he taught me a few lessons.

I taught me eldest to drive and he passed his test 3 years ago in our 2001 Land Rover discovery 2. In 2 months time it all starts again as my youngest wants me to teach him! I remember talking to a couple of driving instructor at the test station in Weston Super Mare and they were talking like he’s already failed. Anyway, the first one came back and he’d failed, then the second and that was also a fail and then my boy arrived in our 21 year disco and he’d passed with only 1 minor! Proud dad moment. As for Layla. If she can drive like that now I recon she won’t have any problems! Nice one mate.
