When you have been sewing for decades you don't realize all the things you do subconsciously while using your machine. This was fascinating to watch. You are an excellent teacher, calm and patient.

Thanks so much, Cathy! I fully agree about how much of it is subconscious. It's hard to remember what beginners need to learn!

I taught a 13 yr. Old to sew last summer. We made 3 tops and learned how to use the machine.

I envision teaching my older daughter to sew someday. Her paternal grandmother gave her a machine for college graduation, which took place in 2004! She got married and has an 8 year old son now, but has never felt she has the time yet to sew. I’m hoping to get her interested to begin very soon! You are such a calm and patient teacher…💕

It would be wonderful if your daughter learned to use her machine, but I totally understand how busy life is with small kids! Thanks for your kind words❤️

You are a great friend to teach your friend to sew on a machine that you have never seen before! I'm impressed. I'm also watching closely because I want to teach my grandchildren (ages 6 and 9) to sew this year. But on my machine and with my choice of fabric! BTW, I have issues with the self threader on my machines too--I usually just thread them the old fashioned way.

Awww, thanks, Mary! Best of luck teaching your grandchildren to sew. That's a very worthy pursuit!

I've also wondered why people go backwards at the beginning of their sewing. Glad she asked that.

Yes, that's what I was hoping for from this video, that Lindsey would ask the questions that I wouldn't otherwise think to explain. I think she nailed it!

You are absolutely awesome teacher, step by step with patience specifying just enough so the person is confident. Great job. It's an european machine so it's in centimeters the 15 is for 15mm or 1.5 cm equals 5/8 in.

I’ve sewn for 6 decades and learned something before you were 5 minutes in. Please, could you do the two-needle lesson?

I bought a serger 5 years ago. It's still unopened in a box, because I don't know how to use it and am too afraid to break it while trying to figure it out on my own. I wish I had a friend like you hahaha :D

Mar, please check out one of my early videos about getting started on your serger! kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3bMZXd8n6p0b8U I also have this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5-xmYGBg8iGbac It's time to get to know your new BFF, your serger!

Why has a person who cant sew or use a machine got a fabric stash. It's just not normal. I hope she listens, as Catherine has some good tutorials
