I'm a US listener who catches all of your VODs, thank you so much for doing this plant breakdown. I would love if you made this a regular series. Knowing the ins and outs of various lesser played decks is hard for me. Thanks much, you rock.

A couple of pointer in regard to the deck as a Sunavalon Rikka player * Dryas plant lock is extra deck only. Snowdrop, Petal and Konkon search effect all lock you into plant period. This means that if any of those 3 activated the effect, they can't summon Regulus anymore (Note: If they have Regulus in GY they can still use Lily Borea to get the negate effect) * In 90%+ of cases, primula is just a search target with glamour. Note that primula only SS itself when YOUR monster is tributed. Meaning she won't SS if you use Konkon effect and tribute opponent monster * In the rare cases, Primula is a valid search target for extender. Jasmine and Lonefire both tribute monster. This only really comes up if you already used/have Princess, and you need another extender after getting interrupted (Jessica has a line in the combo guide using Primula) * If you want to stop petal coming back on end phase, just make sure they have a non-plant monster on field. This includes: Regulus, Kaiju, and any facedown monster (e.g. with Book of Moon) * Fun thing: Rikka sheet does require preventing activation of a target monster effect. This means that Rikka sheet can't steal a non-effect monster (Learned the hard way playing against DM) * Because Dryas is not a HOPT, a lot of time a Rikka player who get interrupted will try to go on a convoluted loop (like lonefire their own jasmine) to summon loci and Dryas again. This is why trying to interrupt Dryas isn't really great if you can (Ash should be used on sowing, Imperm should be used on Jasmine when she tributes a plant monster away)

Newer player taking notes, these posts and Jess's combo guide are why I understand any of these cards lol. I have the kinda brain that needs to familiarize myself with cards, reading it doesn't help until I already have an idea what it does, so these kinda posts fast track a fair bit of headache for me lmao. Better I learn here sheet can't steal normal monsters than in a game lol.

Picked it up on master duel and I really quickly realized that if I get a physical deck for playing, it's probably gonna be the plants. Deck just has some incredible ability and when you full combo when your opponent has no interaction, you basically just win no matter how much gas they drew because it just slaps so hard. Also, having a negate from GY feels like cheating.

Expectation:people learn how rikka works and do not missplay against it Actual rezult: a lot of people start playing the deck and it gets even more tops. Would be extremely funny if this happened
@chrisb.2028 Жыл бұрын
I doubt it would happen, either konami ban jasmine or the sunavalon engine (effectively killing the deck) or people specifically built their side deck to beat it, is seems clear to me with this stream that people just don't like the deck and would rather play a deck with ways to beat it rather than trying the deck, people who play it do so because they like it, not because is the meta call.

2:35:11 This decklist is actually viable in Master Duel right now without the SHS. Having the Valyantz able to do their combo without a normal summon is insane; they end their turn on Dyna and Spellcaster village as massive floodgates after they finish setting up their board. I had to face that.

They should just ban dryas like how they did my homie scarecrow dirty. I mean think about it, rikka has less starters than samurai but if fully uninterrupted if you didn’t go for the grimy ftk’s with samurai just standard like baronne savage regulas appo with hella cards in hand It’s a similar # of interruptions. The rikka ones can slightly be more annoying being able to tribute your stuff. Rikka still has the luxury of being able to play broken cards like thrust and whatever non engine they prefer. Before anyone thinks I actually think dryas should get banned I don’t. Rikka is fine a s a deck, there’s just lots of similarities 🤔

I still dont get it why people pronounce loci Lokay, it's latin you say locee the same goes for Cherubini is spelled KEhrubini no cherubini
@UncleForHire Жыл бұрын
Probably because nobody speaks Latin, and it's written in English. If it's written in Spanish, French, or Portuguese in translated cards those that use them can pronounce them however they want with their own language rules. Seems fair no?
@giangole Жыл бұрын
@@UncleForHire in what universe loci if it was an english word would have been pronounced lokay, also what you said after makes no sense yugioh is full of words from different languages (like japanese) and those are still pronounced the japanese way not with the english sounds
@UncleForHire Жыл бұрын
@@giangole I understand your confusion, you see in English the card is titled Sunseed Genius Loci, but in Spanish its Solarsemilla Genius Loci, and even if some words are identical, the Spanish will use their Spanish pronunciations on the Latin and English words just like we use English to pronounce the Latin one. If someone from Japan says Go-do-bye we don't correct them, we know what they mean and accept that's how they pronounce the word. Same with Burrito, we don't use the hard double R sound natives use, we say Bu-ri-to, and that's fine too, Spanish speakers don't get agitated at us for pronouncing their words our own way. So if we pronounce Loci as Lokai that's fine too, obsessing over the pronunciations of foreign words so that we pronounce them exactly like the native speakers of the language is unnecessary for proper communication. Imagine if we did that for every single word, German, Greek, Latin and French, speak them like how the native speakers pronounced them just for the sake of being pointlessly accurate.

Note: Do not attempt to negate Konkon on tribute effect. You can not. It is a field condition, it is not activated. Some judges will not allow you to reverse the action, if they know you attempted, failed and tried to change the negation back to Glamour, etc. You have to negate the Glamour, etc card's activation. I've had a few people rage and puff their chest at me after matches. "It's the rule, baby".
