For Bailey, Jacob and Parker, I would recommend air dry clay. That way if they make something that they want to keep, they can dry it and paint it so they can keep it and show their own kids or give them to grandparents as gifts.

I love these types of sit down vids! I also love the vlogs but these are great too! Also I just wanted to say I LOVE your parenting, when I’m older and have kids of my own I strive to be like you! Bailey is so grown up and such a beautiful young lady. All of your kids are so respectful and so mature!

I’m not a mom, teacher, educator, I don’t even work with kids. But this was awesome! Just a little add on: if you don’t have a laminator but want to laminate the days of the week (or something else really small like that), you can use wide clear shipping tape and tape over the cut outs. It’s works the same as the laminating sheets, just smaller!

Also if you dont have a laminator, you can buy that clear shelf liner stuff... its self sticky, and you can take one sheet put whatever you want to laminate on the sticky side and then fold over to enclose your paper into the shelf liner sheet and then cut around it and it can also be written on with dry erase markers. :)

Jessica! I was homeschooled and am now a nanny for a child with Mosaic Down Syndrome, who won’t be returning to preschool this year. My boss is quickly turning me into a part time homeschool teacher, and I am definitely terrified to take that responsibility on. I know she doesn’t need too much schooling, but her mom isn’t quite on the same page. (She seems very strict and wants intense education.) This video is wonderful and informative! THANK YOU!!!

My Mum used to homeschool my sisters and I. We would use The Learning Company for educational computer games. I recently got nostalgic and found some of the old games online. It was so wonderful being able to play those games again. Treasure Mountain, Treasure Math Storm, Word Rescue, Math Rescue, all of the Reader Rabbit games, Gizmos and Gadgets, and so many more. I wish that they were more popular now because they help you learn so many things in a fun and creative way.

I love what you are doing and the info you are providing to families working to find ways to educate their children during this very hard time. As a preschool teacher, I disagree with some of your points in the beginning. A formal preschool education expands a lot more than just 15 minutes would allow for. Our industry has worked really really hard to be truly seen as educators because it is what we do. We are educators and professionals. We work really really hard to provide our students with a full and loving education.

One-on-one is different than a classroom setting. You don’t need as much time to get the core education. This applies to the older grades, as well (though the time increases as they get older). I was saying that Bc many people think that in order to school at home, you need to replicate everything about schools- including the schedule & time commitment. I’m sorry I wasn’t more clear about that. I did not mean to negate what happens in a classroom, though! You are absolutely educators ❤️

Think everyone, including me feel the 'omg, I have to be a teacher now' pressure. My kiddos 10 and Im 26, take that as you will, but if you have older kids, ive noticed my kiddo respond better to having independence and coming to me with questions instead of getting a ton of instructions. That's it.

I'm a teacher from Finland and it makes me so happy to hear that you limit your kids' screen time. Here at least it seems like very few parents actually bother to do that and the consequences are huge in my opinion. I'd say most children have trouble concentrating in class (and just in life). Also it affects their reading: compared to what I remember from my childhood, kids nowadays have more trouble understanding both simple instructions and longer texts. Finland is known for its great education system, but I think phones especially have become a massive problem.

Only part way through the video but already most of the activities she is doing is stuff I’ve done in my preschool classroom. Everything she is doing sounds like what we did at preschool (don’t work there now due to COVID). We never had a lot of money for class supplies so we did as much as we could for free. I also agree that a laminator is an AWESOME investment, it helps things last a lot longer than just using card stock. Clear contact paler works okay too, just not quite as durable as laminated.

But it’s just the same referral code that anyone would have ❤️
