I learned so much about the needs the blind students. It is awesome to hear them speak for themselves that they are just as smart if not smarter than normal students. These students have achieved great heights and feats despite their conditions. They all articulated that they just want a chance to have a normal life. I admire them and respect their tenacity.

PHENOMENAL!!!! Math is a very important factor in our everyday lives. Each student used a manipulative device to assist them with their learning, and all the teacher used strategies to make sure each student could succeed. A lot of people think individuals with special needs should receive special treatment, but the young lady at the end made it very clear that they all want to accepted and treated fairly. She was also very honest.

This video was very interesting. I never would have thought about how someone who is blind can being taught math unless they braille was being used. This video helps someone understand how essential math is for the blind students. This video also shows other resources that are available for ones who have this impairment; and the different instruments that are used. And what a better idea than to have someone who actually lives with the same impairment teach other blind students. Great video!

This video provides a plethora of information about the blind in regards to Math but also general education. The personal testimonies of the students were inspiring and interesting. One student stated she wanted to be treated fairly and as normal as possible. I have never thought about math being mostly completely visual. The use of technology and simple strategies that the teachers pointed out can go a long ways to help the blind.

I have never thought about math being everywhere but it is true now that I think about it. It is important for everyone to learn math whether you are visually impaired or sighted. I liked the advice that the visually impaired gave to teachers. One was to treat the blind fairly like a regular student. Another one was to talk to the visually impaired on how you can best help them learn. It was amazing to see how many visually impaired students majored in math.

I enjoyed this video because we were actually able to hear from the visually impaired students about how we as teachers can best accommodate their needs and help them to learn. I believe that any teacher can teach the visually impaired if they are willing to have the patience to do it. The strategies for teachers in this video were also very helpful and I will keep them in mind for my future as an educator.

The strategies given in this video are very helpful in teaching not only visually impaired students, but all students. The “talking board” technique was one that really stood out. This type of strategy will obviously be useful for the visually impaired student, but also for English language learner students.

I found this video very interesting. I was very pleased to see some of the manipulative devices and strategies used by the visually impaired students. It was great to hear from both the instructors and the students. It is important to remember that the visually impaired students don't want special favors...they just want to learn like the rest of the students.

One thing the video mentioned that I had no idea about was the blind have no depth perception. Examining that further made me think that geometry must be quite a challenge for the blind. Despite their obvious barriers, it was incredible to see the students in the video doing so well with math. It was also fascinating to hear feedback from the students. Particularly that they wanted to be treated as if they are sighted.

This video was really interesting in that we got to hear from real students. I really liked that the best strategy to help these students was to ask them personally what they need and what will be the best way for them to be able to learn. These students and teachers work so hard and the outcome is amazing.

Good afternoon, I a teacher for learners with Visual Impairment. I would love to request these teaching and learning aids for maths and science from lower, upper Primary, junior and Senior secondary up to Tertiary level. In Zambia we don't have these things including embossing equipment. Kindly help me to change the life of these people including a Deafblind person. I really long to change the mindset of our Society in Zambia. Euphrasia Juvensio Banda Lusaka Zambia.

While watching the video I did not realized that the blind had no depth of perception. I wondering about how hard it is for some people to learn math and they can see. When you think about someone who blind learning math it makes you wonder how they are capable of figuring out the problems but with the different technology devices it seems as though it makes it easy.
