Thank you for the teachers that are so brave and let us in their classroom. I saw myself in them and have learned so much from Mr. Bayley's advice.

Teaching is such a challenging job, it only makes sense that we'd help teachers be the best they can be in the classroom. Wonderful series.

These videos by Bayley are so touching and useful for their advice. Strangely, I honestly think that his suggestion at the end that the troublesome girls wanted to be her pal was probably spot on (in my very novice opinion I might add - I am not a teacher yet). It's just that classes are so tumultuous these days that it seems like teachers sometimes need to yell to get students attention and may appear somewhat frazzled in doing so. Teaching something so eloquent as French in a harsh tone heightens this juxtaposition to the point that might affect these girls self-esteem perhaps saying to themselves "This beautiful teacher doesn't like us so we must not be beautiful either".

Hmm..., 2011, I wonder what they are doing today, the teacher and the pupils as well. It's so inspiring to see real life experiences. The children didn't seem to be bothered by the camera. Thank you.

Yes, I will admit I used divide and rule when I was teaching. In retirement, I only wish I had had access to these videos, it would have made all the difference

I actually makes ure I don't start until I can hear a pin drop. And the exuberant way of complimenting them feels exuberant to the teacher himself / herself because we are adults ourselves and being quiet and listen attentively is a skill we've already mastered. These young children (whose neurological reward system is working a little bit too well - this is all part of the biological phase of puberty)are extremely sensitive to praise and interaction with pupils. That's why we should give them feedback on putting effort into being quiet. Once they have mastered this skill and they know what is expected from the teacher, you can decrease the number of compliments you give.

So the teacher must jump through hoops to get these rude, badly behaved little twits to engage. Shocking behavior.
