9 years later and this is still so incredibly helpful to me. Thank you so much Mr. Hicks!

Thank you Johnathan Hicks for all your lucid and easy to comprehend presentations. I am now nearly 86 years old and I still enjoy learning about maths. When I was a high school student way back in 1946/47/48, I, unfortunately, did not understand/comprehend what this was all about. The reason: I believe our teacher was only capable of teaching "gifted" students and not the average person who could have learnt all those concepts but "did not get it" because of the teacher's inadequate methods. - So thanks once again and I sincerely hope and wish that many, many young students will gain from your thorough instructions. Wolfgang Suehrer, Australial

Really great videos. I remember most of these moves from school, but it NEVER sank in as easily as you have just made it. Its like how did I ever not get something that seems so simple back then. I think like for most people, we didnt see any point in it so we didnt make the effort to see its simplicity. Now that I NEED it for Amateur Radio, and WANT to understand it, its so simple! ufff...id love to go back and do highschool again and this time...forget girls and just learn learn learn hahah

When rearranging equations (e.g if in an = d - a,) is there a rule that usually applies to what side you will but the a on when rearranging the a?
@MsJovi1027 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for your tutorials. It has been really helpful to me as a Physics student. I would have like to see the alternate way to solve the last equation though leaving the minus cmTo on the right hand side. I tried it but not too sure if i'm correct. Would the answer be the same regardless?

Hi Thanks, this was a great help. Although, I have one question on the equation p = t (x + y) - r if one was to write the final answer as y = (p + r - tx) / t instead of y = (p - tx + r) / t would that be valid? Thanks in advance

I keep getting Q-cmt1/-cm Its the same method but id rather keep the Q there and bring the others next to the Q. cmt1-Q is not that same as what i got. A little help would be nice here

I’m struggling with this too, he said u can’t only divide part of the fraction but he said that you can divide by -cm if you do it this way so now I’m confused if you can or can’t do it this way or if you can or can’t divide part of the fraction
@finigroza52172 ай бұрын
Sorry I figured it out now, it would be Q-t1/-cm=-t0
@finigroza52172 ай бұрын
If this would be a formula and u sub in all the numbers you would get the same as what he got with his method it’s just a different way of getting the same answer basically

Hello, is it normal to skip order of operations while writing a transposed equation? to correctly solve the first equation for x=4 you would need to write as x=(10-2)/2, rather than10-2/2 = 9

I don’t understand. Why is it that it suddenly becomes cmT1 - Q? When in each scenario previously it would’ve ended up Q - cmT1?

How would you do y=4-xsquared for x. I have the answer as square root of 4-y but no idea how to teach the method. (Standing in a a maths teacher tomorrow)
@splintercellpandorat4 жыл бұрын
-4 from both sides which makes y-4=x^2 then to remove the square you square root both sides. So, the answer will be sqrt(y-4)=x It's a little late so I assume you already know this now :)
