Thank you immensely. This raw footage is such a better experience than the regular mostly slowmo vids being produced. I felt like I was actually in the boat with you. @@raiospartaonick Nazare may be big, but teahupo'o is heavy. they are different monsters. Narare is like Everest where as Teahupo'o is like the Mariana trench. the barrel is deep, dark and heavy. ontop of that, you have a live reef and let me tell you, i have been there, it is not deep.

@@raiospartaonick teahupo is more dangerous than nazare. Teahupo is a faster and thicker wave that turns itself inside out and then slams you into a sharp reef. Nazare just has height which is still dangerous but the fatality rates don’t lie, teahupo is the most dangerous wave

I’m commenting 2 years late. Your very fortunate to have been there and captured this insane natural phenomenon. Thanks for sharing Garrett’s POV and other angles from his tow in wave. It’s comical how the GoPro makes this look “ soft and inviting “. It’s my dream to get to watch a wave like this when it’s firing in person. My reality, it’s probably not gonna happen. Thanks so much for creating these edits! My jaw was on the floor once the monster tow ins started, watching the surfers get pulled up the face faster than they can descend is unbelievable. The fact that people put themselves in these situations, and people like you are there to capture it is awesome. Thanks again, from Charm City Maryland! Liked and subbed

Thanks for posting. This gives a great perspective of what is known as an 'epic swell' in Tahiti. I remember when Poto was the only surfer known to come out of Tahiti, and no one had ANY knowledge of this wave. It took the tow in surfers to nail it, then the paddle surfers conquer and claim the wave. I couldn't imagine traveling that far (from the US mainland), catching & MAKING the wave of my life, only to have to dodge a dozen or so boats sitting in the channel to watch the surfers.

I totally agree!. I think the main reason is the seriousness of waves like these Really bring people together. I'm sure most people out there have gone to new spots and the locals were dix but if you shred then maybe you'll get some warranted respect. It was same with skateboarding in my day and the best times were when everyone is just stoked on everyone else ripping it and sharing the whole experience!.
