It’s not about the numbers you get, it’s the enjoyment you get being out there.

Just watched again. I wrote an article years ago in the Sporting Gun, entitled 'The applicance of science' where I explained why we miss in bad light. The left (or right) eye takes over from the master eye as it sees the side of the barrel, as ribs are invisible in bad light. The use of a bright red flouresent sight helps even though you may not be conscious of it. Even better in bad light use a fishing float tritium light source or a Starlight stick taped on to the end of the barrel. This enables you to get the gun 'lined up' Hope this wiil help yu hit those little rockets.

GET AN AUTO! Most pump actions need the stock shortened if shooting lying down with winter clothes on.(also make an adjustable headboard to stop a crick neck) I have been wildfowling for 50 years, starting out with a pump. But when I got a Browning 5shot my shooting improved dramatically. Once getting 5 teal for 5 and several 5 for 5 on wigeon. I now shoot with a new Browning A5 3-1/2". With regards to steel shot use an inp cyl choke for decoying and a TRUE cyl choke at night for teal. Most are using too tight a choke.

Thanks for the advice. It’s sound. However I use the pump action to cycle the subsonic loads with the moderator. Semi-autos even the lighter end like my Remington struggle to cycle the subsonics. Pumps are the only option for reliability. The Winchesters are noted for this reason fraction fault. I’m on the lookout for a Remington Wingmaster. I do like pump actions, when they work. But like the semis too

Have you found that gadwall numbers have increased?
@CumbrianWildfowler3 ай бұрын
@@crazyferret9409 we only get the odd pair round here. Just a bit south in Lancashire there are plenty. It’s mainly Wigeon, teal and mallard here in that order. We are seeing more pintail here though year on year despite them being in decline?

Have you been feeding that pond? Great video subscribe from me 👍
@CumbrianWildfowler3 ай бұрын
@@ajmpestcontrol1900 No, it’s more of a splash that comes and goes. Later in the season it’s a part of a series of great wigeon floods. It’s only a golf shot from the sea so is well placed.

A few of us go up the solway we have some good shooting but last year was very poor for duck. Not been up yet this year but hopefully get up when the tides are right
