Iida takes the challenge to heart and aims to showcase his true heroism to continue honoring the Ingenium name. Meanwhile, Todoroki taps into his neglected power, pushing himself to his fiery limit. However, the students of Class 1-B won't go down without going Plus Ultra either as Tetsutetsu shines for the opposing team.
Picking up from his dramatic reveal at the end of Episode 7, Iida demonstrates how powerful his new Recipro Turbo ability is, darting around a stunned Honenuki at a blistering pace. However, the mud hero quickly realizes he needs to regroup and makes a tactical move by plunging into the ice he liquified and escapes. As Midoriya, Uraraka and Mineta watch this display, Mineta mentions that Iida has leveled up to retain his identity after Midoriya made the switch to his speed-based shoot style.
Meanwhile, Ojiro struggles against Kaibara's Gyrate Quirk, using his tail and martial arts skills to ward off the spiraling blows -- which have a disorienting effect. Luckily for him, Iida rushes in and grabs Kaibara, taking him to jail. Though Kaibara chastizes him for breaking up a one-on-one fight, Iida isn't having it and ensures his team takes the lead. He won't compromise on his heroic principles just because it's a training exercise, which Kaibara begrudgingly admires.
Simultaneously, Todoroki is locked in battle with Tetsutetsu, who has upped his game like his red-haired counterpart Kirishima. Tetsutetsu reveals that he trained himself by sitting in an oven to withstand massive heat levels to become a perfect opponent for Todoroki. Now, Todoroki's Hot-Cold Quirk doesn't harm Tetsutetsu's steel body, who quickly closes the distance and starts pummeling Todoroki......

This was easily my favorite fight , on both sides all members gave it their all and showed a ferious battle . It was so fast that there almost wasn't any breaks for strategies mid fight it was just pure adaptation . Shoto's team pulled their weight on all ends .

Can we all agree that nothing about this battle should have been allowed? Mudman nearly murdered Lida. If he was a foot too slow, that building would have hardened with Lida's face trapped inside the concrete. Lida could have easily killed or paralyzed Mudman at those speeds, espscially with that headshot. Tetsutetsu could have killed Todoroki in their slugfest. Brass knuckles are a lethal weapon and Tetsutetsu is far stronger than brass. Poni stabbed Ojiro multiple times too. And that's not even counting Todoroki trying to incinerate Tetsutetsu. Even if Tetsutetsu could take the heat, it's still unacceptable to let them go that far in training

Todoroki was trained intensively by Endeavor from a young age, he knows how to take a hit. Hell, I would say his endurance is higher than most of Class 1A and 1B, with the exceptions being Deku and Bakugo. And even if Todoroki was taken out in one hit, they still have to deal with Iida who forced Mudman, arguably the strongest member of 1B's team to retreat fully aware he wasn't winning a 1v1 with him. Iida could probably solo all of 1B's team if he was actually trying, but he chose to prioritize rescuing Todoroki over a prolonged fight with Tetsutetsu, a battle in which Iida would be landing all the hits and receiving none in return, because how in the hell do you counter someone moving at that speed? Iida's overpowered in this match which is why he's missing for half of it and had to be taken out in some BS combo move from a character who should be fully knocked out after a kick to the back of the head at Mach 1, or the simple fact of Iida could have just run to the side of the falling tower instead of trying to run the length of the direction it's falling in. If you want to talk plot armor, Class 1B has more of it in this fight than 1A does. TetsuTetsu should be dead, he should have been roasted alive within his metal casing!!

And considering it ended in a tie with TT being occupied with Todoroki the whole fight, class B would've logically pulled out a W if he'd been able to contribute in a 4v3. Metal can be tempered to withstand heat and he actually tells us the training he goes through, it makes sense that he can handle fire. Being abused by your dad isnt going to help you withstand the equivalent of being decked in the face with a steel pipe over and over though
