Great tips man! Unfortunately I can't do any of these. But when the Rival finally arrives (lol) I'll be looking to "fettle" it properly, so these type of tips will come handy! I started racing off road buggies back in the '80s, still have an original RC10, from before Associated added the "Team" word, and some other stuff from in-between times too. Now getting back into racing again, but decided to get a decent "basher", so I don't go bashing race cars!

So yesterday it ended up accidently floating down the creek in my backyard. went in and got it, fully submerged for a good 10 seconds. unplugged, dried it out with my air compressor, checked all screws, reoiled bearings and other moving bits, let the electronics sit for a few days, turned it on and it's working perfectly.

@@LuisTorres-tm2jc i dont know the part num but its the fronts for 4x4 Slash ive used. I think they’re all the same as in slash, pede, rustler etc. be advised that the grey heavy duty ones are larger in diameter and will rub your shock spring! Id just stick with the rivals honestly but ive used what traxxas shafts my lhs had in stock. Again its the front ones for 4x4s.The rears are a bit different and arent a direct fit. Theres many brands of metal ones also, associated makes them too. Its just the axle stub that bends or breaks for me so i just stick to plastics myself and pop in the new stubs.

Ah sorry about that. I have a set of the AE SC10 4x4 springs and test fit them on the front, but didn't run them as the stock front springs are pretty good. I'm running the SCTE springs in the rear and they fit really well, I think 12mm springs would be too narrow, the shock bodies are definitely wider than normal 12mm shock bodies.

Aargh! That servo saver! I don't know about anyone else, but I must have big fingers, because I could not get anywhere near the adjuster to tighten it! I was seeing a dead spot in the steering, so decided to adjust it up a bit. Oh man! I've had to take the whole section apart ! So, after removing the servo saver side front wheel, you remove the screws between the front gearbox and the lower front bumper, then all the ones under the front gear box, then all the ones holding that front gear box skid plate to the central chassis. Then I had to remove the steering "rack" screws, (hope everyone's got the instruction book) careful not to lose the tiny sleeves that the screws go through! After that, I think I have this right, you finally remove the one screw from the central under-chassis steering link to the servo saver. I removed the other side one but either will do. ( I did all this before deciding to write it as a comment) And you're right, there's almost room for a second servo saver spring collar in there. And, strangely, the the spring adjuster collar has castellations on it. Hmm maybe those really are for some superglue to spread out into? Anyhoo, I've wound it as tight as I could get it, then backed off about 3/4 of a turn, so the gap where you can see the spring is about 1.5mm. I'll see how that goes tomorrow, and hopefully I can get my needlenose pliers in there if I need to adjust it, before adding that superglue! Yes peeps, you will need to get some pliers on the adjuster once it starts to get fairly tight, and the plastic is slippery! Hmm, there's not much grease in that gearbox, I wonder how much should be in there?

YES! My 8yr old is autistic but spends a LOT of time watching RC Vids so knows a lot about them. We had a pair of SCX24 crawlers for indoor tracks at Christmas and he loved them, but then got into 'basher' vids. I was about to buy the Arrma, but then saw a post about the MT10. After much research I found the MT10 to be much better, and much better value too. Anyway, got one for his birthday and he absolutely loves it! We started with 3s batteries and it was way too fast for hom to learn, so we put in 2s batteries and it was still fast. So turn down the Throttle Dual Rate (the TH/DR knob on the controller) and it works like a power restrictor. Started at setting 4 on 2s in a big field with grassy banks to jump and now he can go to setting 6 on 2s. We've done grassy banks and chalk/grass quarries and today found a tiny BMX track which is perfect for RC bashing. I was worried that he'd lose control and fly off into oblivion but he's much, much better than me now- they learn so fast. So yes, get one, run 2s batteries and turn power down until he has the hang of it, which won't take long. I use Zee 2s 6200mha batteries from ebay at £44 a pair. Each one lasts about 15 mins or so- dunno, lose track of time, so we take 4. Got a couple of 5000mha 3s as well which we use with the power down to 4. They're great starter cars and we've not broke anything yet!!

Like for example I have the slash 4x4 and you can go forward to reverse instantly. When trying to correct while jumping the brakes or reverse lags. Hope this makes sense
