I'm having trouble choosing a boat right now. My Dad has a davis cortez 22 that's getting passed down to me but that's not gonna happen for a while. so for the mean time i want a boat that's small enough that i could maneuver around in a bay good but also big enough that i could take it out and fish some inshore kelp beds.

for the crucial rod (6'8m) is that a worm and jig or can you find those in swimbait series? i will be using 3 inch swim baits with a quarter oz lead head would the worm and jig 6'8 medium be good for the task fishing in newport?
