Faark what a beast! I did the Cape in 1989 in a FJ 45 Landcruiser and that GW has as much capabilities as the Cruiser. It might float trying to cross the Jardene River. I took a Holden Captiva to Birdsville and it sailed up big red np. Handled all the dunes never got bogged. I would say the GW with lowrange is a good buy fuck paying $180 a tank at the pump in a hyped up patrol or Cruiser...

Stuart Dunebuggy Whitehouse yeah it's a 2.4liter petrol engine. not a 3 liter diesel. that's how petrol engines work. they work off revs to create power not compression like a diesel. I have owned a v240 and it was the most reliable car I have ever owned. and I have owned a few. my mate now owns the v240 that I had for 5 years. 160k on the clock and never had a problem with it. he takes it up the beach and off road every weekend without fail. dispite what some believe they are actually good cars.

I currently drive a vf ssv ute and I am selling it to buy another greatwall. I will probably buy a v200 dual cab with low kmls on it. I loved my v240. and I worked it very hard for nearly 5 years with no dramas. can you tell me how the 2liter diesel goes as apposed to the petrol engine. I havent had the chance to drive the diesel as of yet but the petrol engine in my old v240 was not bad. just had to rev her a bit to get her going properly.

This engine is based on replica of Mitsubishi's 4G63, and with EFI system is called 4G69. So, strictly speaking, it's not a Great Wall engine, but all the engines are made by Great Wall Automobile, but this engine uses Mitsubishi technology.

Have a GW and a cruiser, GW is definitely a lot more fun, goes just about anywhere and always gets ya home and best of all doesn't cost $200 at the pump haha. But for comfort, reliability, safety features and towing you can't compare to a Toyota.
