He might be waiting for an official word since it's currently a rumor. Things could change but it may be long time before Jon trusts anything PR related after what Hasbro did. He probably felt like the criticism he gave in his discussion videos didn't make a difference since the viewership for those fell off, now he rarely comments on anything because he doesn't think people will care. That's my theory.
