A battery is like a balloon. When its full, its full. Some people go to sleep with the charger in their phone. Eventually your battery gets damaged so much, it can't function normally. your i phone battery may have gotten used to being constantly plugged in. when you charge your phone the battery runs in the reverse order then when your using it if it is plugged on then more then you need it cathode gradually decays and into lithum metal which will coat the cathode and the anode and therefor can't out put enough energy. this happens nattily over time but it accelerated by over charging. actually letting your phone die or get close to dieing can stop your phone frm getting worse but sadly can't make it better
