@@pupiberto I agree. Heres hoping more contest organizers go this route.
@PHeMoX4 жыл бұрын
@@palestalemale8831 Yeah, I still don't quite get the whole judging thing anyway. I mean, some skaters just have a better style and when they land any trick in a non-sketchy way, it should be worth the same score. I can see how heel touches, toes hanging or being way off balance can knock down the score. But make it consistent. Knock down a half point for each of those three things or something. Don't put heavy weight into how effortless or steezy it looks. And think about the skill level a trick requires. And no, just because it was switch, don't mean it is harder. At the pro level, they are expected to do theirs pretty much in any stance in my opinion and people will have their favorite tricks to do. So good chance, the switch tricks they pick, is stuff they do fairly often. Anyway, my point is, there seems a bit too much politics in there indeed. I mean, I don't know if it's even fair to say that as I'm sure judges do their best and lowest and highest scores are probably ignored or something, but make the judging transparent. Release lists of what tricks get what scores or something. It would make it so much more relatable. And it would encourage combos.
@palestalemale88314 жыл бұрын
@@PHeMoX I think the judging thing comes from the days when it was very important for skaters to make sure it was viewed as an art and not a sport. /Shrug that's just my guess. I like your idea of having pre set point values for tricks.

I was also interested by how everyone but Carlos did a stationary manual and he did a stationary nose manual which is probably what I would've tried too. Insane how KB did that hippy jump with his feet out in front of him like that. Seems like that would make it so much harder but it looked really sick.
