Have to say, the Bok fans are incredible and a credit to world Rugby, I have never seen the likes of that support including the World Cup. listening to a couple of interviews last night in the stadium with Tim and the fans really impressed me. I suppose it reinforces the fact that most of the Bok comments stirring up the shit are all fair weather supporters listening to commentators. The Boks will be back, no doubt. Rugby is in a good place generally. All we need now is the Welsh to come good, which I hope will happen sooner than later. For Ireland we have so much talent in the pipeline and the future is bright. With the new IRFU ruling in reference to the Irish clubs on the front row we should see a shift in depth in the future. For me, Doris was the player of all the tests, Farrell got emotional about that yesterday in his post match. What an incredible achievement, leading by example, exactly how O Mahony done it for us in the past.. this match has been great for Irish Rugby with all the doom and gloom over the last year. And considering we won a six nations and it was all seen as a negative. Role it on boys 🇮🇪☘️

As an Ulsterman I keep banging on about Cooney not being given a chance, but I have to take my hat off to Murray, he gave a masterclass in control, passing and kicking, while de Klerk looked ordinary. @@patrickchilds2987 His penalties often come when defending around the 2OM mark ie easily converted into 3 points. Itoge has to work hard because he is often doing the job of the back row at breakdowns, he's an outstanding player and has racked up an immense playing time since before the RWC. Maybe not. Think Faf adds things to the Springbok engine that no one seems to notice. However, one guy who was found out yesterday was Handre Pollard. If we have no playmaker in the midfield then all we have is kicks and that is not going to win us games, not against the likes of Ireland or New Zealand.

Losing Willie Le Roux early on must be Pollards recurring nightmare, and it happened yesterday. I understand now why Mgmt was trying desperately to get Manny up to speed, especially with Am not playing 13. Two fantastic games and probably a fair outcome over 160 minutes. We can only dream of what a 3rd game would have given us.

Itoje certainly is a huge menace at opponents’ lineouts, but he did slip back into his penchant for committing penalties at inopportune times - seems he had at least three he shouldn’t have had. Btw, Charlie Morgan in The Telegraph has done something interesting after these tests: He’s got a column taking an early look at who might get picked for the Lions tour. Of course he didn’t have fresh data from the Scots, though he does give nods to Duhan v.d.M, Schoeman, Huw Jones, Tuipolotu and Scott Cummings….but it would be interesting to hear your thoughts. From my perspective, all the relatively inexperienced Irish players stood up against the toughest opponents they could play. Osborne was great from the first game (he debuted on tour btw), Blade kept things going from when he came on, and Frawley the ice man. So the Irish team could say that they were as successful as they could’ve hoped for; series draw, new captain, depth built… SA also had the likes of Feinberg Mngomezulu, and I’m sure other nations have young talents ready to go.

He didn’t attack his knee intentionally I think somebody is watching a bit too much wildcard rugby. he just tried to get him off the ball admittedly he did crock roll but it wasn’t in the neck like it normally is. What made it look worse was he was joined in the tackle by James Ryan behind him that made it look worse than it was. It’s Caelin Doris btw.

No m8 the low point of the match was watching Kolbe dive and wiggle on the ground like a fish and the rest of the SA players crying for a penno...

I don't think it was intentional. Was a croc-roll and the ref gave the yellow. Marx is obviously very difficult to shift off the ball and when you are desperate you sometimes make bad decisions in the heat of the moment.

@@ciaranbrk Even Ryan coming in his arms are around Marx's waist, wasn't anything wrong with his hit. Doris doesn't fall on his leg either, he falls beside it. Only wrong bit is Doris having his hand on the Marx's thigh, which he should have let go of, but since he was falling down under Ryan you can understand him holding onto something.

His own fault for trying to cheat.

No! That was rancid. Make the dive - expect the backlash. This is rugby.

Great coverage as always, you looked to have had an amazing time in SA! I have to admit the English team impressed me, I feel they look like they can only get better. I think there's very little between SA, Ireland, New Zealand and England currently, which is great for the game of rugby and even better for us fans! Being Irish I'm bias but I really was impressed with our resilience and resolve! A little nugget of info as you seemed impressed by Jamie Osborne, he has a younger brother Andrew who is quite the player too! 😉

I knew the Boks were in trouble with Connor Murray on the field. Incredible player in his own right and reads the play for the team matchlessly. Great player!
