The smell isn't the main issue. Feces contains bacteria, and cleaning a house filled with it is WAY different that picking up a little accident on the floor. You can contract all kinds of diseases and respiratory problems dealing with this much piss and shit if you aren't properly suited up. Their outfits were fine, but they needed real hazmat masks and proper containers to store the shit.

On like my 5th attempt at cleaning the house, my mom kept taking out a broken piece of plastic and would push me around when I put it back in. She said it might go to something, I said that it's covered in dust so even if it did, it isn't needed. She tried ripping it out of my hands so I ripped it back. You all have to realize that it’s tough to just find motivation to clean up something so massive after years and years of it getting messy. Some people don’t think like you, if it were me, hell yea I would clean it up the second it got even a tad bit awful but this lady isn’t thinking how we are and being angry and hateful will do nothing to help her. It’s frustrating, but quitting on her would only make things worse. The guy who opened up her eyes by telling her the reality of what will happen to her house did the right thing. He was strict and blunt but cursing her out would only make her mad. It’s a tough situation but with enough persuasion, the job would get done👍🏽 Trust me, I’d love to be able to smack some sense into her, but some things don’t work like that...some things take patience.

The condition of her home is a clear reflection of that. She needs help. But she also needed a reality check. mike sixx I have a tenant who is a hoarder , I inherited the building and I can’t throw him out because of his team of social workers. I have to get the place cleaned up every 4 to 6 months so it doesn’t get like this. I won the right to take his cat away at the renting board at least but he appealed the change to the lease since I included he can’t have pets. I took the cat with me. This is hell , he isn’t as bad as her but this is hell , it’s always in the back of my mind and I get complaints from my other tenants cuz he steals their trash and their stuff in the lockers. I don’t know what we should do with hoarders but this is extremely difficult dealing with them, it’s a crisis every time.

My fridge's motor died out a few years after I moved into my own place. A company was hauling away my old fridge at the time of delivery of the new one, but that was going to take a few days. My family never allowed old groceries to linger around our house growing up, so I was ignorant about the breakdown process of meat. I cleaned the few items out of the main fridge and forgot about it. On delivery day, I opened the old freezer to clean it. I'll never forget what looked like squirming grains of rice all over a box of thawed hamburger patties. In another episode they actually had the woman to go through a few months worth of intense hoarding therapy BEFORE they helped her with cleaning her house. You'd be surprised to know that she allowed them to throw away everything and clean her home with no problems. She helped and she was so excited and happy to do it. She got everything cleaned and organized and to this day she keeps everything cleaned and organized. She is still in therapy and no longer hoardes. So I also believe that giving these people serious therapy for a few months prior to making them go through the cleaning stages of this, would help them tremendously to be able to let things go.

This is true, but the issue is that when a house is THIS bad, there is little to no time to waste. Remember, she had days if not less than a week or so to get that literal shit show of a house cleaned up, or she'd lose it. Someone like her doesn't have that kind of therapy time, and frankly someone like that should understand how serious the ultimatum she has is. She needs therapy, yes, but at the rate she was, there was no time for it.

Damn I wish my mom was like that. Instead she’s out shopping 24/7 while she doesn’t have a job. She makes my dad work the equivalent of 2 full time jobs. When she is home all she does is sit around and sleep. After a school ends and I finish my homework and go to practice I have to spend all my free time cleaning the house. I end up stressing myself out and stopping. My room is the only clean room in the house and even then my mom shoved old clothes in my room. My grandma is a hoarder and I really don’t want my mom to become one also. I try my best but as a 14 year old trying my best in school I just don’t have enough time. My house is so disgusting. My mom is so lazy that she refuses to let my dogs out while I am at school. I come home and there is dog waste everywhere. Instead of taking responsibility she just wants to put our perfectly healthy dogs down. Whenever my dad mentions her getting a job so he can be home and clean more she has a fit and stops talking to him all day. The worst part is is she has conditioned my 9 year old sister to act just like her, zero responsibility.
