It's amazing what humans can do when properly trained and physicaly able. Also, never thought I'd say anything good about the song... But it actualy fits the video, the pace... I actualy enjoyed the song for the first time ever, because of the video.

Oops! I didn't wait long enough for the other song to play. The very beginning one is Andy Hunter but I have no idea what the second one is. Sorry about that!

The song is called "Go" by Andy Hunter.

yea team ryouko mixing extreme martial arts gymnastics and a little of break dancing they are unstoppable
@quik87617 жыл бұрын
That's what XMA (Extreme Martial arts) basically does, mixes Martial Arts with Gymnastics, Team Ryouko just takes it to the next level by adding some break dancing for some added flair.
@Underline44716 жыл бұрын
That's totaly insane. Man, amazing, really love Team Ryouko!
@quik87617 жыл бұрын
It's called a Bo staff (the one Chris uses is a VERY lightweight version, possibly made of fiberglass, or a hard plastic, most Bo's come in differnt sizes or shapes and lengths), Most Martial Arts use it in some form or another, it's very prevalent in the Japanese disciplines, but other Martial Arts like the Korean disciplines of Hapkido and Tae Kwon Do will use it as well, some Chinese disciplines can or will use it, but they generally have other weapons that they prefer to use.
@jeason3bb15 жыл бұрын
This is an extension of martial arts. Would you use this to defend yourself or to spar, no, but it is something entertaining to push yourself and expand your knowledge beyond that of tradition. Many of these techniques are built upon traditional martial arts, just with extra flair.

Typically XMA is a mixture of taekwondo (the fancy kicks), gymnastics (the flips) and capoeira (the fighting that looks like dancing). Though originally was just a combination of martial art kata's or forms but people have gone nuts with it. Team Ryouko use XSD (Extreme Skill Development) which combines break dancing, acrobtics and many martial arts. So when you see the kung-fu weapons its because they chose to combine Kung-fu or only use it for their chosen act.

Lot's of practice and training my friend, plus Chris is using a very lightweight Bo staff so he can really get it movin' unlike some Bo staffs they make which are heavier and cumbersome to use.

these're the most recognizable weapons in Martial Arts: Bo staff, Nunchakus, Sai*(*not as popular), Escrima/Kali Sticks, Kama (seen @ the 51-54 sec marks), Tonfa* (similar to a nightstick) it depends on the MA discipline & if the school U attend has weapons classes, which're usually reserved 4 higher ranks like black belt since @ that rank you're expected to have good technique control and fluidity, I hold Dan (blackbelt) rankings in Hapkido & Tang Soo Do (Korean MA disciplines)
@kalel33316 жыл бұрын
It's called XMA.Extreme Martial Arts , but like he said mix of acrobatics, gymnastics and a mix of martial arts . But I believe Ryouko developed their own style of XMA.

hey im tryin to learn coz im startin tricking. im guessing ur not a gymnast but how long did it take?
@amdathlon2712 жыл бұрын
On the contrary, all of the weapons are representative of martial arts, the flips and such aren't, but the rest is self defence/martial arts.

@quik87616 жыл бұрын
No they don't use anything specific, most of the Martial Arts they use are Karate, TKD, some Capoeira, Kuk Sool Won, Wushu, with some gymnastics involved. they also have a class they call XSD or Extreme Skills Development check out their website for more info

tru, but it's allso because it has a metal shine, it makes the bo-staff a litle harder to follow and thus lets the eye think it's as fast as a spitfire engine.

@SUFI19418915 жыл бұрын
@TheVaginaKiller- no. Its not because of a "fucking crap trainer" its because the other 3/4 is acrobatics, which not all martial art schools teach because its just gymnastics. Im a 3rd degree black belt in TKD and i too can only do about 1/4 of what they do, maybe a little more. I mean a 1:35, the guy is just breakdancing. It all depends on the art you want to learn. some will teach you acrobatics cause it is involved with the art but others wont cause its necessary to learn it.
@LucJenson17 жыл бұрын
As have I, ive done ninjitsu, you do learn backflips btw XD well again it depends on the dojo and the area of combat training that your sensei has been handed down from. But yeah you do learn some of this but all this is mixing

Whats the genre of this tournament that the video was recorded for? Is it a sparring tournament? A movement tournament? A weapons tournament? Looks like this video is just them showing off their abilities. Their agility, weapons mastery, some sparring. But since martial arts is 99% movement, thats what they focused on. Make sense? Good. Not to mention they are all Black Belts. Not black belts of gymnastics, clearly. What would you place it under?
