I had a 1987 14' Glasstream in 1988 & 1989 while in the air force and it was one of my favorite boats! I would sometimes fish that thing 3 times a week preparing for tournaments and it was beautiful and trouble free :) I sold it for what I paid for it 2 years later.

I replaced it with a Ranger and broke everything except the boat. Sheared the bolts out of the trim pump and the upper motor mounts.

Well, you are wrong about the procraft. I owned a procraft back in the early 80ies for 6 years. Absolutely one of the best boats I've ever owned. It was not a wet ride at all and I fished big water like Guntersville, Seminole, Pickwick, Wilson and others. And it was one of fastest boats on the water at the time.

I literally have an appointment to see a garage kept Procraft 1989 195V this week. 200HP V^ Evenrude, two lawrance fishfinders, new minn kota trolling motor, service records, shiny like new, low hours etc... Looks great and was thinking about buying. Would it be okay for local tournaments? Is Procraft really that bad guys?

My first bass boat, before I knew any better, was a Tidecraft. It was awful. Since then I have owned multiple ProCraft boats. The first one was an ‘85 model. Although it did ride a bit wet, it was a good, solid boat. They changed the hulls in the ‘90’s and it was a whole new ballgame. Not wet at all. Rode and handled well. Very fishable. Excellent value. I would love to have another later model ProCraft. His dislike for ProCraft had to be their earlier boats because their later boats were nice.

My first "big boat" was a winner tournament 2 in 2007. I was 18 and it had been garage kept its whole life and didnt have a scratch on it. I ran it for probably 5 years and loved it. I think that was the first year they didnt out wood in them but i could be wrong

I had a 1997 200 Bass PRO CRAFT with a 200 MERCURY. Most stable boat I've ever been in. Little tough in rough water. Didn't get wet. 67 mph. Loved that boat. Still wished I had that boat.

I have a 98 procraft. Mine rides good, I havent had the issues you talk about but there are a few things that i dont like. 1. Loses alot of speed in turns and takes a while to build back up. 2. Hole shot is kinda slow. 3. Lots of water coming over the back if you dont make a perfect stop

I owned a 1996 Cajun 185 for 20 years . Rode decent . It was fast and it got on plane fast. Don’t think it had the fit and finish of something like a Ranger or a Champion but it was a pretty good boat and it lasted a long time.

Hello Nascarlover . I think that Stratos when they were around made some pretty Good Bass Boats. I use to own a 1992 Stratos 295 Pro 19 '6 that was powered by a 1992 Evinrude XP200 . It was a pretty good old Bass Boat , Stable , Dry ride , Comfortable and Fast with Lots of Storage and Room to Fish.

I don't know much about the Winner Bass Boats, however the Winner Bay boats and sport boats, in my opinion are one of the best boats made behind the Grady White. Why do I say this? The Hull on them is indestructible, they do not have wood stringers and the transom has no wood in them. They are Rot free boats. The Hull itself is over 2 inches thick. I have a 1989 Winner Marathon 2050 and every dealer that has seen this boat has had nothing but great things to say about the design and durability of these boats. These hulls will not crack. This boat has been in my family since it was new, and we have seen 12 Ft swells in this thing. It has taken a beating. It was on a boat lift at my family's property and got a direct hit from Hurricane Ian where it's at in Southwest Florida. The boat lift is galvanized steel, and it broke in half, and 2 pilings broke in half as well.The boat had some minor scuffs on the hull and scratched decals. I took it to a repair shop they inspected it, touched up the gel coat and when they checked everything over and said, these are super strong boats with a solid hull and transom. Then I did more research on them, sure enough found out the US military used Winner Boats for decades because of the durability. But like I said I don't know much about the winner bass boats.

Bought a new Procraft with the Tower of Power. Took my Dad to Tennessee to Crappie fish. Sitting in the water 24 hours and it was taking on water and sinking. Tried the bilge pump on a new boat and the motor came on but it would not pump. Had to trailer it every day to let the water run out. Got home and sold it to my supervisor at work who was a douche. We weren’t friends after that😂

Good list of bad boats except... The Skeeter Wrangler. That boat was innovative for it’s time. Back in the late 70s John Storie bought a Wrangler, brought it back to Mountain Home AK, splashed the hull and used it as the basis of the first Champion Super-V boats. So without the Wrangler, our beloved Champion wouldn’t have been.

Dude stay off the sauce! Procraft was a top tier brand and bought out by Johnny Morris. I've ran two boats my whole career of 30+ years...Champion and Procraft and yes the ride in the procraft isn't a Champ ride but it was damn good with my only issue being the spray off the sides in 1 - 3 footers. Take a look at prices of 2000-2005 Procraft 210 Super Pro's for sale and you'll see they hold value just like Champs.

My dad was meticulous with maintenance and never had much of an issue with it it was 30% less than most other comparable rigs. I have been in a mid to late 90's 18.5' Cajun a few times. It rode very well and fished well. The owner had no complaints about it. He upgraded to a 20' Progator which is another obscure brand that also rides and fishes surprisingly well. I am a Champion homer and find the ride is quite impressive actually.

I have a 97 Cajun 185. It's when they changed the colors and styling and also one of the last boats they built before they went out of business. If you look at the hardware on the boat some of the best in the industry especially for that time, and they were known for being a good ride for a smaller boat. The transom and stringers are composite and I know a transom is pretty much indestructible

1985 ProCraft 1510V with a 50hp Johnson. I must have got lucky. It rides nice, stay dry and very happy with the stability. Planes out nice and handles bends of the lake very well. The Johnson may only do 30mph on a good day, although this ProCraft I am very happy with. Great Shape Too!

Got 31 years out of my 1988 17 foot Bayliner Bass Boat with 85 HP Force. Just repowered it last summer when the Force gave out. It went to the shop only 2 times in all those years. Put a fair amount of bass into the boat as well. All the original accessories are present including seats with no rips and motorguide. Did the radio, the cb, the bilge pump once and that was it. Fresh new Mercury on it with a couple of extra horses and it was good as new. Keeping the water out of them in the off-season, was all anyone needed to do to keep them from falling apart.

My 165 Pro Craft is great little hull. It's been overpowered for years and has held up great and handles well at speed. It's just heavy. The Glasstream, (later Basstream) had 1 1/2" transoms, were rated for 150's and might crack with you in em going 60. Guy in our club had one. The Bayliners were built locally for years. You got what you paid for.

Man I have a 1992 tidecraft and it's been a very dependable boat. The transom is still in solid condition. Still glides across the lake. I will say the gel coat is getting bad. But as for the hull no soft spots. I will admit I can't afford a high dollar boat and I've kept up with maintenance and upgrades and I've been pleased with this old boat.

I had a Cajun and it was junk. Saw a guy delaminate a Glass Stream the first day he had it on the Hudson. My buddy warrantied 6 Tide Crafts in one year, I think the best one lasted 5 weeks. Good list!

My dad owned a boat shop in south Louisiana in the 80s and 90s and even though he had new boats he built and sold, his bread and butter was replacing floors decks stringers and transoms in those old skeeters.

Have a 1998 Hydrasportsb196 sc. older newer style design by Earl Benz before he formed Triton. No wood in hull. All composite. Boat has been garage kept and still looks great and rides great. Fairly fast hull. Some older bass boats are awesome. I will never sell this boat. Have you ever heard of this model? Not many built or left around I’m guessing.

Used to have a Bayliner Bass Striker 1710 with 75 Force (dads) when i was younger. Did have to waste leave time replacing decking one year. Carbs took some getting used to but otherwise no issues. That one did get sold off. We never had another bass boat.
