My lineup predictions for Team USA during both Qualifications and Team Finals at the Olympic Games in Paris.

Yup. The one debatable spot is wanting to put Hezly up on vault at #4 in qualifications, but they’ll almost definitely put Suni up cuz they want to give her another chance to qualify for all around finals.

Agreed. All arounders should be Hezly, Suni and Simone. Jade has a better chance of medaling on floor. So I would only use Jordyn on bars and beam during qualifying

Yeah, in the video is the same ranking as what i put except Hezly on vault in qualifications, but since its 4 up 3 count, the 4th spot wont really matter, since they definetly want to try to get more than 2 people to try for AA (unless of course simone, jade, or jordan have a huge uncharacteristic error or fall on vault)

@@aurabanshee how in the world do you consider hezly an aa over jordan? jordan was 3rd at trials and 4th at nationals. hezly is on this team because superior gymnasts were injured. she would not be in the conversation, but jordan would be. the disrespect is real.

Love this team, they are so tight as a group which makes it so much better..Jade's floor is her best ever, we all know she can't dance but she gas finally got the right choreography that works around it. Can't wait to watch.

I think the team should utilize hezly on bars. it prevent simone from doing AA on team finals so less pressure for her. I'll personally would choose bar line up of (hezly jordan suni) or (hezly simone suni)

Not doing one bar routine for team AA is not going to conserve simone that much energy, because she still needs to train it to keep it tight for the individual AA anyway. It's actually more practice for her to do it under pressure which is difficult to replicate in training

There is no way Simone is going to sit out on uneven bars. She's also way too consistent/reliable to not want to get that hit score in.

where is this "simone needs to rest" in TF narrative coming from? good for her if she wants to but in 2023, she was top 3 on every apparatus in QF for the US and she did AA in the TF.

I agree with this for quals but wonder if they would put Hezly in for both beam and UB for team final. I don't necessarily disagree with this but I haven't been able to make up my mind on this.

Team USA is going to easily make the team finals, but if we were putting gymnasts up in qualifications based on being the top 4 on each apparatus, Lee wouldn’t be doing vault. Since Team USA is going to make team final (baring massive injuries) m, Lee should be allowed to try and beat out Chiles for the 2nd AA spot

Simone, Suni, and Jordan will all absolutely do all around in qualifications. It would be stupid to only have two of the gymnasts do all around in quals. What if you only have two of them compete all around in qualifications, and one of the two of them gets sick or hurt and has to pull out of AA final? You absolutely want a third gymnast who can sub in. Hezley will be doing bars and beam in qualifications, and Jade will be doing vault and floor. It’s definitely not rocket science to figure out this lineup. The only way I can see it changing is if they would give Jade the all-around nod and demote Jordan to vault and floor for qualifying. That could happen, depending on how the training goes and what happens in podium training. It would absolutely not be unprecedented, as Jade did beat Jordan to make AA finals at both the 2021 Olympics and the 2022 world championships.

@@carrietremble of course those 3 will do AA in qualies, but if you only put your 4 best vaulters, Lee isn’t that (at least she hasn’t shown it). Like I said, team USA is going to make the team finals no matter which 4 gymnasts they put up in each apparatus.

I agree with every lineup on each event and if these ladies hit each routine there will be no doubt that they will win the Gold. Not dissing any other country at all but this USA team is strong on every event!!

That’s the best lineup so far. I always thought Hezly and Jade would do 2 events. It’s where they are needed most. Ok question: at trials at the end Alicia and Chellsie went to the back and an older blonde headed woman followed them. Who is it? I’m really excited about this team! I’m glad they will get the fullOlympic experience with the crowds and all. ❤❤❤ Edited to add: I love Suni’s FX.

I think 4th beam spot depends upon who is more consistent in podium training. Seen lots of falls from Jordan this year.

@nyree1724 Everyone will get artistry deductions, but it won't make up for the difficulty gap. When some judges gave Jess 0.4 and Shi 0.5 artistry deductions (AD), you can anticipate Suni to get 0.4 AD if not 0.5 by some judges. Unless Jordan implodes in QF, Suni won't do floor in TF.

I would put Simone in last on the balance beam, at least during qualification, but otherwise I pretty much agree with this lineup.

if its a 3 up 3 count situation in All Around finals I'm thinking Suni Jade and Hazly on Bars Jade Jordan and Hazly on beam Jade Jordan and Simone on Floor ex and Suni Jordan and Simone on Vault and as for the changes in code of points since the old days I kind of a agree as someone who has watched since the 1988 Olympics and 89 World Championships I'd agree that its lost some of its elegance as the equipment has gotten better and many of the release moves on the uneven bars are adapted from men's high bar or are named for legendary Gymnasts the Retton Flip Chow/Khorkina bar transition and since Competitors are getting older its more difficult to do some of the moves that require tons of flexibility like the Sheep jump on Beam/Floor think about it 4/5 of this years team is over age 21 so their growth plates are closed plus one of the traveling alternates is also 21 Leanne Wong Simone Biles 27 Jade Carey 24 Jordan Chiles 23 Sunisa Lee 21 Leanne Wong 21 Jocelyn Roberson 18 and Hazly Rivera 16 Roberson and Wong being the traveling alternates it was different when there were seven girls on the team and highest and lowest scores were tossed for ex on Beam in 1992 no Bronze medal was awarded and silver ended in a tie between Lu Li of China and Shannon Miller of The US with a 9.912 the same score Miller received on Floor exercise due to mistakes leading to almost .1 deduction and when she won Gold in Atlanta in 1996 on Beam Miller finished with a 9.862 while the two Dominique's almost tied for Bronze on Floor with 9.84

Personally, I would replace Simone with Jordan on bars. They tend to score around the same on bars anyway. Plus Jordan nearly beat simone on bars at classics but had a bop on her landing so she would’ve won minus the hop. Plus I think it would also be smarter because we would need to save Simone’s energy for beam and floor.

I agree for the most part, but if they leave Hezley off of every event, their choice to bring her doesn’t make much sense. I absolutely think she deserves to be on that team, and she can contribute to bars and beam, but why not someone else they’d use on an event, even a specialist. I just hope all of them get their chance to compete in the team final.

The only things I'd switch is that I highly doubt they're going to have Hezly lead off any event- even Quals. I feel like they'll have Jordan lead UB, then Hezly, Simone, Suni. Same exact order for BB, but MAYBE let Hezly start. It's just a huge risk to let a first year senior with no international experience be the lead on an event at the Olympics.

It does make sense to have all 5 from each country do every event. I just think it takes too much time for each competitor perform and thats maybe why they cut it down to 4 in qualifications.

USA is the new USSR in gymnastics, they will be tough to beat, and even if it happen, the only teams able to do that are Brazil and France.

A few thoughts I hope they are thinking about… I hope they are practicing hard to do better than what I saw in Ft. Worth. Suni needs to upgrade her beam dismount. Everyone had bobbles, which means 10ths off their score. They need to focus on sticking the landing. Nearly everyone is doing college floor choreography. The only one doing world competitive choreography and tumbling runs was injured and is out. They should all be studying Shannon Miller’s floor routines to see how musically written it is. Simone is relying on high difficulty scores and isn’t worrying about her landings in execution. What happened to Miss Texarkana?

Suni shouldn't do AA with her jacked up vaults and her useless barely above level 10 fx. Suni is only good on beam and bars. She's no longer an AA gymnast imo. (No, domestic scoring doesn't count because it's a joke and everyone knows it).

Because the sport is no longer restricted by antiquated oppression of what women should do. The sport is light-years more difficult today than it was back in the ancient times where it was basically ballet routines with a flip stuck in somewhere. The skills these gymnasts are doing are INCREDIBLE!! We don't ask the men to prance around, so why should the women??
