To answer the question of what was meta in 2010. That'd be pretty much everything lol Edison format in 2010 had a very diverse metagame with Gadgets, Blackwings, Gladiator Beasts, Flamvells, Monarchs, and many more. It's a fan-favorite format and I would love to see some Edison format duels on the channel some day.

GoldenGhoul42 oh you can play both if you want, it’s just that Isolde still requires you to run equips that can cause bricking. Cross crusader is just as easy to bring out, can help you search for any hero monster just as easily or go into a link-3 as easily as Isolde can and if you’re not running Isolde, you can cut the equips in favour of better tech cards. I personally cut Isolde for pure hero and I think it works better because of it
