Sweet little pond, glad you were able to help it out without destroying it. I'm sure you saved those irises - I'm sure she could put them somewhere. Great video - it shows older ponds can still have the latest upgrades to keep their ponds awesome!

Nice work. Really cool how u made it look the original design. I did my first pond this year for our family. Our goal is to be outside as much as possible the rest our lives, backyard oasis’s help with that. I can see ur clients neighbors wanting to have a drink on their back patio. I hope u get referral business from that project, u deserve it.

Great design. If they plant behind it right, it’s going to look like a little parallel creek finally joining the main stream. I believe is called a yazoo.

could you guys please make a video on how you do those edges so well? and how you hide the liner so well without getting the ground to suck up water. I tried the technique with foam behind rocks between the rock and liner, and then ground on top, but the ground still sometimes touches the water and sucks it up.. Really curious on how you do that.. Lots of height between water level and ground?

Would it be worth it to install this filtration system on a pond that is only 4x6?

For the inlet pipe to the wetland, do you always come over the top of the liner and down to the centipede?

What happends when the fishes grow bigger? isnt the pond to small for that many fish?
@Helveteshit4 жыл бұрын
Looks like a bunch of Goldfish mixed with some Koi. And Fish have a tendency to only grow to the size of their environment at times. So they might not grow bigger due the lack of space. I guess she wanted more filtration because she realised she had too many of them.

Yeah, this was my thought also. 50+ fish in that area seems a bit overstocked. Beautiful scape though.

It might be deeper than you realize and that does give them more space

So this is 6 small aqua box- anyone have an idea of how deep the hole needs to be? I understand the centipede needs to be below the bottom of the hole. The aqua lox are 9:5 inches so much room for gravel on top of that?

You guys always use rocks for the wetland filter. I assume that it’s because to gain as much surface area for bacteria to attach and do the bio filtering. Have you guys ever experimented with bioblocks? It’s very known in the reefing hobby. It’s very porous and there for it has allot of surface area for the bacteria. Maybe it’s something you can look in to to get to the next level. You could use it straight on the aqua blocks and use smaller rocks from the get go. I hope the pond professor can look in to it. Anyway keep it up! Greetings from the Netherlands!
@Helveteshit4 жыл бұрын
The risk is of them crumbling over time. Rocks have already been tested against time, so the level of the wetland filter will remain. If anything, they would need volcanic rock instead.
@khakicam54004 жыл бұрын
Also, my understanding is that Ed designed the filter with a few different cobble grades, from large to small moving up the profile which results in a gradual increase in flow velocity between the voids, thereby minimising clogging.

Expanded clay would be interesting too

Why do you guys always use the wetland filter to upgrade a filter when you sell the UltraKlean bio filters that would be an easy retro fit and are just as efficient
